Baby swimming lessons

I'm taking my baby to swimming lessons soon and I'd like to know the cheapest way to get swimming nappies. I currently use Huggies and normally buy Huggies from Boots to get the most points.

Any ideas? I have a half price swimming costume from Woolies but I don't know how to get best discount on swim nappies!

Get washables! All a swim nappy does is stops poo going into the water. Disposables let wee into the water as do washables. So the cost effective solution is one swimming costume that you wash. They're also cuter!

Hi Karnam... you definitely do need swimming nappies! :) There are two types - the disposable ones (such as huggies) that you're already using and the ones you wash and re-use.... the disposables are quite expensive, but good if your baby is growing quickly. The washables are excellent for the environment and cheaper in the long run. But whatever you do you'll have to use them, most swimming pools now insist on babies wearing nappies.... and it can prevent the spread of nasty bugs in the water...

A quick search for some here.....

  • my baby goes swimming every week since 3 months old has she has only had swimming costume. There have been 6 others in the class wearing the same. No poo accidents in the last 7 weeks. Some people have taken the child out as they can tell when they are about to go. A much cheaper way if they are going every week.
  • There's dozen of swimming nappies on ebay, shouldn't cost more than £2 to £3.

It's cheaper to go without, but a lot more hygenic for all users of the pool if your baby has a nappy on.

ive had reusables from mothercare and debenhams(sale) in past they have both been fine but i must admit when i bought disposeables for first holiday they were so easy to just throw away i never went back to using the reusables much though i know it's naughty as reusables are better for environment but there's nothing worse than a cold wet bottom full of poo trying to get the reusable off and its stuck to baby's legs!!!!!!!!!!!!hope you all dont mind please dont lecture me! but the throw away i just rip the side off it comes quick and easy although it's bad for enviroment! naughty me!
please please put nappies on in pools i hate that on holiday especially when they put babies in with bare bottom it's not fair on the other children one year i saw a poo floating in the pool no wonder kids are ill on holiday!

The majority of public swimming baths do stipulate that babies wear proper swimming nappies though.

I personally would not be happy if somebody else's baby had an accident in the pool without wearing a swim nappy!

Tesco & boots have currently got some "little swimmers" disposable swim nappies in little pack containing 2 swim nappies. They are usually hanging up on the edge of the shelf near the big packs of swim nappies. 79p a pack with a 50p coupon inside off your next purchase.
