If you do this do not leave it on your kitchen worktops, as the oven cleaner will remove the top covering of your laminate and leave them sticky.;)I had a plan..........its here somewhere.0 -
Arggghhhh!! I'm forever going through roasting tins, baking trays. They start off all nice and new, and whenever I use them I immediately put them into hot soapy water afterwards to clean all the grease off.
BUT as I am a full time working mum of two I am not always there to make meals for the kids so hubby does. And he never cleans the oven trays etc after he has used. The lazy sod just bungs them back in the oven...so when I go in to use them at the weekend they end up all greasy with burnt on bits and no amount of hot soapy water will loosen it or bring them up new. Not even the dishwasher. So I have to go and buy more.
No amount of nagging changes his ways either. I'm fed up. Especially as my trays that I use to make fresh bread rolls are now ruined. They weren't expensive but I hate wasting them.
Is there any old style money saving cleaning solutions that would budge the grease etc if I find them in the oven after a couple of days and they haven't been washed?0 -

I haven't found a way to rescue trays myself unfortunately! Now though I cut the reusable baking liner sheets to fit the trays and these save a lot of work. It would be a lot cheaper than replacing your trays and the OH might be incentivised to use them as the food cannot stick to it. They then just get washed up as normal and the tray can easily go in the dishwasher.
Personally I don't mind if the trays darken over time and use but I am a bit sluttish!0 -
my mum says it adds extra flavour to the roast potatoes !0

I use Astonish tablets, add 2 to a large container of water boiled on top of cooker to dissolve tablets.Add the baking trays, cooking utensils, pots etc, bring to the boil then turn down the heat, leave in solution till all discolouration is disolved. These are brilliant and the only thing i have found to clean tins trays etc.Astonish can be found in most stores.0
