Are there any good deals for Students?

Been used to 750 cross mins and 350 texts so something around that kind of deal is needed, not bothered about video calling
Thanx

I have two student contracts on Orange (one for me one for the sister, and yes we are both students)

    1) 120 xnet anytime mins, 1000 texts, 50% off landline calls, £50 credit at start of contract. I got the V3 for free as my contract is £25 a month. I got this through rententions by threatening to leave orange for other student packages.

    2) 1000 xnet off peak mins, 1000 texts, 50% off landline calls and £50 credit at start of contract. My sister chose the new Pebl and got that for free her bill is £25 a month. We got this in the Orange shop, as retentions wouldnt give her anything good so she opened a new contract.

The link I submitted was to the student section of the site as they sometimes have better offers on handsets than are available on the "normal" site (certainly with the PAYG phones).

As far as I can see there are no differences as regards the tariffs for contract phones:

    http://shop.o2.co.uk/shop/o2uk/jsp/tariffs/selectTariff.do?menu=y (non-student link)

The 3G phones have their own tariff -

how come it is cheaper to have a 3g phone contract than the other? like the texter one at 750 mins anytime anynetwork and 750 texts being £35?

I don't know that much about mobile phones but whats the difference in a 3g and non 3g and why is it are cheaper contracts for the amount of minutes and texts? is there any downside to the 3g phones?
    Thanx

All I can think is that they are trying to promote their 3G service and encourage more people to switch over to it and upgrade their handsets - just marketing I suppose (unless someone else can offer an alternative theory).

Sorry, but I'm not at all clued up on mobile contracts myself - I'm on PAYG and it suits me fine ;)
