    Find 3 tenners!
Got 2 from cancelling Vodafone now the contract is up.
Found 1 in my Coop membership. I found I have over 1,000 points which pay out at 1p per point next year (so it's not a real tenner yet, but hey it's better than nowt).

    Result!

Morning all, lots of early starters this morning!!
I had a nice long lie this morning, and toothache is finally starting to go away (yay for antibiotics! :j )
I'm going to be very bad MSE-wise today though, I'm going Xmas shopping!!! :D I will try to be good though and look out for some bargains!

    So, today I will:

Do surveys and scratchcard before I leave - one of these days I WILL have more than 10p in my scratch card! :P
Get picked up to go shopping and dropped back home again - saving train fares!
Stick to Xmas shopping list - everyone has a rough idea of a pressie and a spending limit!
Dinner at in-laws tonight - no food spend, no cooking, and best of all - no washing up!! :j
Performing at hotel tonight - free night out, and get paid for the privelige!!
Spare change in Sealed Pot - almost at £50 woop woop!!
Buy in bread etc for weeks lunches - wait til the last minute or else the bread doesn't last the week!

Off to get dressed now guys, hope everyone has a great day!!

  • Nothing! It's been spend spend spend today for Xmas!
Did get my Gran a pay-as-you-go-mobile for £12.88 from Carphone Warehouse which includes £10 credit (it's her first mobile and is really a security thing for her when she's out and about and peace of mind for us)
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
  • Bargain on the phone BGB - you would be surprised how many of my oldies now have mobile phones and laptops - and some of them almost 90:rotfl:

  • Seemed a good deal - and it solves that conundrum of what do you get someone you always get chocolates (who is now diabetic), and who already got perfume and jewellery for their birthday 6 weeks back! There's also the fact that she is now in her late 70s - still very active - but it doesn't stop my Mum and I worrying about if something should happen to her when she's out and about. Seems a good deal for £2.88!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

  • Afternoon everyone.

    Today I have:
    • Started my new diary thread to try to keep motivated
    • Updated my spending diary for the past few days and scared myself silly by the amount I have spent
    • Wondered about setting up some spreadsheets to moniter my money but I have no idea where to start (any pointers/examples would be much apprecited)
    • So far had a NSD despite seeing lots of lovely dresses on ASOS that I just have to have
    And Today I will:
    • Go to work and earn a lovely £11.50 an hour
    • Come straight home after to make today my 4th NSD of December
I think I could get the hang of this.

    Much Love

  • Today I am having a NSD - the first of a few in a row. Also, I will be eating someone else's food this evening :D . I've put my name down for the 50% electricity saving on another thread somewhere. I'm having to do this for gas and electric as I can use either fuel for some tasks. I don't expect to save 50% but if I manage 20% I feel that it will be worthwhile and more realistic. Also, I used to throw bread away if it was a bit dry but have discovered that it's perfectly OK for toasting. However, one thing I'm not ready to give up is my bath. Showers are more economical but my bath seems to be the one little indulgence that I have left that I'm going to allow myself. Not only that but I have mine with bubbles (cheapish ones). I'm a manual worker and my bath is for muscle relaxation as much as for being clean. Hippopotami have a lot going for them :D .
So in my attempts to be more frugal, I have discovered two lines (so far) that I will not cross.
I will not buy (cheaper) eggs that come from caged hens.
I will not give up my bubble baths.
However, a shower attachment might be a good idea for the odd occasion that I would use it.
