Around £3-4 000 so not looking for new or even quite new, but I didn't have a clue even what to search for. Renault gets a good safety result from AA, but a mixed reliability review. Anyone had a scenic or espace?
Don't need a ramp (yet!) just room for a fold up. Mind you, I do struggle to lift it in - need more Weetabix I guess.
The Zafira has a fairly low boot floor without a lip of any sort.. so its easier to slide stuff in no having to lift it over the boot lip...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Ah that's interesting -cheers.
Trix, sorry, you got me looking at these:o can I assume it was reliable then? Are they reasonable to run, fuel wise and parts? How about parking? i'm not too bad at that but I like an easy life:D0 -

However, the Scenic from 2004 has a very good driving position and is actually quite nice to drive. I also enjoy the ford C-max. But that's cos i'm old (28) and have a knee problem...

For your needs - the Scenic would probably be better IMO. The Espace may be 'too' high for your mother to get in and out for a start. And unless you need more than 5 seats, is bigger than you need. For fuel as well - as far as I can remember the Espace only did around 36 miles a gallon, but the Scenic was more like 45 MPG so much better (this is as far as I can remember - probably worth double checking). The Espace was a pain for some parts - £80 for a set of 3 wipers for a start  (dealer part only - all 3 are different sizes and the water jets are built into the blades rather than squirting up on the screen  )
The Scenic 'boot' doesn't have a lip or anything so is easy to get wheelchairs in and out of, and there is handy under floor storage in the front and back.
I had no problem with parking either car - but I had reversing sensors on the Scenic which obviously helped
Can't think of anything else that may be useful for you to know at the min - but ask if there's anything else you can think of that you'd like to knowI'm a little angelBUT A WHOLE LOTTA DEVIL

Well I found both the Scenic and Espace reliable

Cheers, I don't need size other than to get the chair in (and mother lol;):D) so the scenic sounds good. What's it like for parts?
Berlingo looks OK, I'm not that fussy! But I don't like sliding doors:D0 -
Can't really remember about parts for the Scenic tbh :undecided
Although I know the windscreen wipers weren't a dealer part so could buy them cheap at leastI'm a little angelBUT A WHOLE LOTTA DEVIL

The 'secret' bargain, small MPV, of course... Mazda Premacy!
Finding one will be the hardest part, though!!
But well worth it, when you do!!
