You honestly think natwest are employing people in thier branch to not in some where contribute to the income of the company. For everthing else there's mastercard.
For clampers there's Barclaycard.0 -
Scousebird, all the training we have been given has been run by the CCCS (consumer Credit Counselling Service) which is a charity, and if we have customer come in to see us that we cannot help for one reason or another we have been trained to advise them which other body may be of help, e.g CAB, National Debt line, CCCS etc.0

No they are not empoying new staff the moneysense advisers are staff who are already in the branches. The Government has a hand in this, their funding has bailed out RBS and its the government who have made it a requirement that we offer this service.
As i have said previously, the service is for non customers as well as existing customers and we can NOT reccomend or even mention spcecific products in moneysense appointments, nor can we follow up appointments with phonecalls and the like for sales opportunities.0 -
Thanks makes sense. Sounds a decent system to advise changes and all that, but, I'm sure from it will come some good business. As people will generally ask, oh what is the Natwest offer for this account/loan/mortgage, and then you get a sale and make some money. Still, every bank and building society are out there to make money so we cannot really look upon these new advisors as yet another person trying to sell us something. As time and time again we go into banks and such and people try to sell us stuff. Heck the other day I got a letter off the Halifax offering me to upgrade my student current account to a Halifax plus account which costs £12.95 a month. Seriously, why would I want to do that? They also set me a letter regarding 35% off home insurance. So all banks do it in one way or another.
But it looks that they will offer advice and not try to sell.0 -

If this is the case then I am pleased that RBS are taking a moral approach to banking. I sincerely hope other banks will follow suit.Loan-£3600 only 24 months of payments to go!!!
All debt consolodated and cards destroyed!!

It does seem somewhat ironic that NatWest, one of the banks that could not manage their own finances too well, are now advising Joe Bloggs on how to manage theirs.:D
The fact that they are using existing staff, as opposed to employing additional staff, surely means that NatWest customers will face even longer queue's at their branches, or have I missed something?0 -

Right, thanks for that, but surely these are just sales people, surely they will find it hard to change their habits.Kavanne

Perhaps the Directors of your parent company RBS, should attend these " moneysense " appointments, it seems they have been scammed for 300 million US Dollars in the latest American " pyramid " scandal.;)0
