Xenon numberplate lights anyone?

And quite a few of the aftermarket ordinary bulbs that simulate the light colour from xenons either don't focus or illuminate the road properly and may dazzle people, and/or are counter-productive by generating more light power which is then reduced a lot again by the blue filter on the bulb envelope.
Exactly. The problem is that people don't know about Xenon lights. They think they're merely a different bulb. They're not and require a completely different headlight unit as there is a bit of electronics required to run proper Xenon lights. It's not merely a case of connecting it to 12V.0 -

I agree, almost as mongish as, say, failing to read a post properly before replying :rolleyes:You'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky

you can buy xenon lights for around 70 quid now, probably not emarked though and i doubt the reflectors of conventional lights will do much0

Unless she spent around £300 on them, I doubt she has.
Alas, she paid £500 for a dealer factory-fit option when she ordered the car from new.
Advertised by Ford as "bi-xenon" as well but the main beams are just your regular typeYou'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky

Cannot help with the number plate lights but I totally understand why your sis is raving about xenon headlights - because I have them in my fiesta and it's just so good, I got the brightest version available which is 50/55w. This can be retrofitted if the car has projector headlight units already, the kit cost £50 from ebay. Otherwise the car would need projector head units which cost about £100-£150 depending on make of car. I got the projector units for my car for £60 second hand.
Your sister's car certainly have the genuine xenon units, bi-xenon is where the same bulb is use for dip and full beam.0 -
