Good news another no spend day yesterday!! plus Christmas day and boxing day will be no spend days!!
BAD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Got electricity and gas bill from npower today!!! £178.15 in the red!!! This is our first bill since moving. Lots of reasons for this new baby means heating on more, too much tumble drying!!! heating on to high etc, Plus our water pump went about 6-7 weeks ago and we had to leave the heating and water on continuous until it got fixed and forgot to turn them back to the follow the program setting, so hot water and heat have been on solidly for the last 6-7 weeks expensive error!!!!!
Also aready looked a switching and we can save £257 with EDF energy so we are switching!DEBT Total Dec 12 = £30029DFD APRIL 20140 -

Can your wife sign up for mystery shops - retaileyes is a good site, but there are others. She can do them during the day now, in her lunch hour or evenings when back at work - some of them are dinners out so you can still 'treat' yourselves!0

Here a thought,
Is it me or has anyone come across this before, normally I overpay my Virgin 0% card buy £100 each month, but this month they have only taken the minimum payment of £25! Is this a trick hoping I won't notice?? or am I thinking too much?DEBT Total Dec 12 = £30029DFD APRIL 20140 -
Hello!
With regards to your Virgin Credit Card, I did hear that some lenders were automatically converting Direct Debits to the minimum payment each month - I am not sure if you can raise them back again, or if you have to make a special effort to pay further amounts on to the card if you want to overpay - maybe someone else could clarify?? It is a crafty way of making you owe the debt for longer and therefore pay additional interest!
Best of luck, you are doing really well0 -
MBNA told me just before christmas via letter that they would automaticly take the minimum payment only which for me is £15 odd but i usually pay £50 by standing order any extra payments have to be made via internet banking or phone payments Grrr!
Maybe it's the same policy for other cards?
I think that they are just hoping we don't notice so they get more out of us in interest. I make extra payments to them and other cards now daily on the payment a day thread.
That will teach them (sure it costs them more to process the small payments everyday than one payment a month, plus i seem to be paying them off even quicker:T)Total Debt 10/5/2009, £2189.10, 1/6/09 £1420.75
