Have two Dysons DC01 and a DC07 they are good machines, but both have had a Dyson Engineer visit £65 to replace lots of parts. So may be best to find one in a skip and get Dyson out to repair it.

Other than that a Sebo is probably best. Remember Henry does need a bag!
My Mind wanders, if found please return.

Someone posted a month or so ago recommending bissell direct, they have a lift off bagless upright model for £150 or reconditioned ones for less than £50.
I got the recon one (with 1 years warranty) and i am really pleased with it, and so was
the inlaws they got one as well and they might be reconditioned but there isn't a mark on them.

    which Henry is best though?

sorry to butt in OP but I am in the market for a Henry. Decision made because No-one seems to have a bad word to say about them other than weight. The reviews from people are fantastic.

BUT which one to buy? the basic hoover or the henry extra, I think there may even been a third.

    Please could anyone enlighten?
  • I've never used a Dyson so I can't comment, but my mum's had a Henry for years and it's done duty in a bakery and it's now been pinched by my woodturner stepdad. It must be at least ten years old and it's never had a problem. As far as I'm aware it's just the most basic 'bog-standard' one you can get, so I'd just go for that one :)

A standard Henry should be just fine, change the filters periodically & all should be Ok. We had a Dyson never again it was fiddly and unreliable to boot.

There's a green one and a yellow one Dave & Steve.

Just go for the red Henry.

Yup, I agree about Bissell cleaners.
I got one of these a couple of months ago and am delighted. Got it in a branch of co-op reduced from £299.00 to £75.00 because a new model was coming out.
Our local co-op has stupendous prices on such items

The detachable feature makes it truly easy to do the stairs!

Trouble is like most household appliances, you only find out too late if it does or does not do what you want i.e. AFTER you've made the purchase.
Good luck with your choice.:T :snow_laug

The Henry Extra has a slightly different floor thing (can't think of it's name) but it has little wheels on the back. The traditional one just has the flat plate, with the brushes at the flick of a switch.

Personally, I prefer Henry to Dyson
