henry or dyson

Options
just a quickie

looking to buy a new hoover have heard good things about henry hoovers and dysons but which to buy? Is the extra money it costs to buy a dyson really worth it?

i have a 3 bed terraced house, two white cats and no kids i need a decent hoover which will tackle the pet hair but don't want an upright as i have damaged my wrists and can't manouver them easily up stairs. Any response or experiences welcome
thanks elle

I seem to recall that Dyson's are rather noisy. Our Miele has been efficient and reasonably quiet. Can't speak for Henry, except for his rather fun face!
  • Hi
I had a dyson and will never have another. It was useless at picking up anything bigger than a spec of dust. We had carpet in the dining room at the time and the mess left by children after meal times totally defeated it. Couldn't even manage peas or cereal mess, not even pastry flakes.
I replaced it with a hoover which was marginally better but heavy My last buy was a Henry recomended by a friend. I LOVE it. It is perfect for me.

In defense of dyson mine was an upright my work collegue had the other one - brain hurts - smaller/compact/ opposite of upright? Anyway she loved it and said it was the best cleaner she ever had and would replace it with another dyson when it died.

    I have both!

Quick run round , I get out the dyson ( had mine for five years, never gone wrong)
Very easy to empty and of course no mucky bags.
Bigger jobs, I might get Henry out, but its heavy to wheel round, and a pain to take up the stairs with the attached hose.

So please ignore this posting, as its not a lot of use.:rotfl:
  • I own 2 henrys and they are brill, had the first one for years now, wouldnt touch dysons with a bargepole as they are overpriced expensive heavy awkward rubbish that are not reliable whatsoever and very expensive to repair. my Hebrys on the other hand only need the bags changin every so often and no probs with either.

I've had Dysons since 1999 & would NEVER buy anything else.

    Getting a ball new time.
  • I also have a Dyson vacuum and it's so powerful it can lift the huge rug in my conservatory almost off the floor. I have no complaints at all.

However, I'd like to point out that you can't buy a Dyson Hoover or a Henry Hoover or any other sort except a Hoover Hoover - this is just me having a grumble, sorry!!! :D
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
