Fruit bowl or fridge?

i don't have a fruit bowl (!)...and as I share a fridge with 4 people, theres no space for it in there either...so my fruit (which is usually only apples and oranges) lives on the windowshelf in my room at uni and gets eaten pretty quick.
On the rare occasion I feel adventurous with fruit and go crazy with some grapes, then they just get eaten straight away (usually walking back from the shops lol) just for the novelty value of having different fruit...or they go in the fridge till I eat them straight out of the fridge later that day.One thing...that sets pulses racing...that gets hearts pounding...for which there is no substitute...only YOU can provide...blood.

I do both. I keep a fruit bowl because a: it's attractive and b: the MATHLETTS sneak stuff of it between meals;) The bowl is topped up daily from my bulk store in the fridge. I always eat apples from the firdge becuase I think they taste sweater when chilled.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0

I've always kept bananad, apples and oranges in the fruit bowl, grapes and kiwis in the fridge. It's never occurred to me to keep anything else in the fridge. Dunno why - force of habit probably.0

i keep my bananas in the fridge when they are ripe this stops them from ripening even more. The skin turns black but nothing else will happen as the refrigeration process slows down the ripening process so they keep for longer.
have a look here at the dole site that says its safe for bananas to be refrigerated0 -

Bowl for me - never even thought of fridge.
Know you have to keep bananas seperate from other fruit thought 'cos it ripens too quick.
Also keep your fruit bowl away from cut flowers - kills 'em!0
