Bit of a cheeky one this! Because I hate to throw anything away, I keep any unused postage-paid envelopes to reuse. I usually stick a stamp over the postage paid bit, but it's occurred to me that I mightn't need to.
Does any one know the definitive answer? So, if I'm using a pre-paid envelope from British Gas, say, and I've stuck a sticker over their address, do I need a stamp, or does the pre-paid bit apply to any address?
Thanks!

If we all send them back empty do you think they would stop sending the junk mail when they realise that it's costing them money?
I'm going to try it as it will keep my bin far emptierI haven't got one!0 -

I used to use them all the time. Until I spoke to someone I'd mailed to, he said he had to pay the postage at his end!! ooops0

You should sign up with the Mailing Preference Service (http://www.mpsonline.org.uk/mpsr/), I get very little junk mail since signing up with them.
I had a friend who sent out his Christmas cards using reply-paid envelopes and some of the recipients got charged. I don't think I'd feel comfortable about doing it anyway. I suppose I wouldn't feel too guilty if it was a big company who make billions in profit, but I wouldn't like the idea of a small company having to pay for people's Christmas post!0 -
I usually send some elses junk mail back in their envelopes
As for using pre paid to send your own mail - that would mean making the company pay for your mail which would, I assume, mean that you'd be guilty of either fraud or theft.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
