  • Just dropped OH off in town to watch the football. He is going to want picking up around 7.30 and then get changed and then I am taking him to this other 'do', which is 'somewhere' around Ferndown. I've asked him for the road and he says 'I don't know, but I know how to get there', so I've asked him to text the person who's night out it is (a mate) for a road as he knows I have a fear of driving and this is going to be a difficult one for me - I'm already sitting here with a scarlet face getting wound up :( I've said I will take him there (about a 20 mile round trip) but I've said he will have to share a taxi back or get one himself. He was flabbergasted at this statement and said he was thinking I would go and get him.

I said not - it would be at least midnight, possibly 1am (it's a golf club, so I can't see it being a 3am jobby) and I didn't see why he and a couple of people couldn't share back to Poole (there is the organiser and his wife - at least - coming back to Poole).

Apparently I am the most ungrateful person he has ever met and if I'm not going to go back and get him, I can cancel the carpet being fitted.....

  • Oh my god Linda that is brilliant! I am going to do one when DS has his bath...

Weekend plans - none  I've been searching for someone to do tomorrow but there is just nothing on  wish we had a nice Christmas market to go to - might go here next weekend though if the weather is good.

got to sort out and wrap my secret santa presents for the Christmas party at work on Monday... I am stupid and got rid of the label they gave me
  • BB - please please please stick to your guns - that is ridiculous emotional blackmail and I feel outraged on your behalf. Ungrateful? Un-!!!!!!!-grateful???? how DARE he!

:grouphug: get yourself a bottle of vino on your way back, that'll put paid to any nighttime lifts - why the hell shouldn't you have an undisturbed night - oh I would go mental at him if I were you.

  • apparently I should be grateful for all the time he has spent decorating. I replied that I was extremely grateful, but as it's 7 months since he last lifted a finger to do anything, I wasn't really sure what relevance it had.

  • I've made a start on the Christmas Cake I've said I'd do for the charity guess the weight competition at work - so far I've popped all the fruit into a bowl to soak with alcohol, but I thought I'd share the recipe I'm using

    Christmas Cake

    Ingredients:
    2 cups flour
    1 stick butter
    1 cup of water
    1 tsp baking soda
    1 cup of sugar
    1 tsp salt
    1 cup of brown sugar
    Lemon juice
    4 large eggs
    Nuts
    1 bottle tequila
    2 cups of dried fruit

Sample the tequila to check quality. Take a large bowl, check
the tequila again. To be sure it is of the highest quality, pour one
level cup and drink. Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one
cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar. Beat
    again.
At this point it's best to make sure the tequila is still OK. Try
another cup... Just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 eggs and
add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of died fruits.
Pick the pigging fruit up off floor. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers just pry it loose with a drewscriverer. Sample the tequila to check for tonsisticicitystuency.
Next, sift two cups of salt. Or something. Check the tequila. Now
shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a shoon of
spugar, or some fink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven. Turn
the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat
off the turner. Finally, finish the tequila and wipe counter with the
    cat.
    Bingle Jells!

  • Gratitude is given how YOU see fit anyway, you cannot be told how to express it and a simple 'thanks' should be accepted graciously anyway.

Who is watching the X Factor final then? I'm sick of it by now but you have to see these things through to the end...
