Water in my shower plug hole

    If your shower trap did not have any water in it, then that is the time to worry. We have an unused shower and we need to ensure that it has water put into the trap at regular intervals in order to prevent it drying out and letting drain smells into the room.
    I can afford anything that I want.
    Just so long as I don't want much.
  • A shower tray usually has a shallow trap, so in effect the water is high up to get sufficient depth in the trap to prevent drying out if left unused for a long time and to resist loss by 'rocking' caused by sudden changes in pressure.

    If I put in a tray I'll use a Hepworth HepVO trap - no water! Pics., instructions and a link here:
