Just wondering how you can differentiate between those who will be objective and fair and those who apply because they want/think thier opinion is the be-all and say-all and have personal agendas.
Pip, its the thread that is rated not the OP of the thread or indeed the person who rates it. For inclusion in the email the thread will need to be checked by the team to ensure it is current and the content checks out as being valid. You can be sure that this happens with any tip in the email no matter who "rates" it.0 -
I can't believe how many posts I am reading that are moaning about this.
If it is any good ...Then it will be worth the effort .
If it is no good .....Then it will soon be dropped .
If you think it is just another tool for people to use to their advantage ....Then get involved and in that way you can help to direct its growth.
I don't think it is quite what is needed ,but there are some really useful threads that get under the radar and if this can fast track a few of them .And let a few more people find out about them then that is worth making an effort for.
I would hope that eventually as many of the bad things as well as good things will get flagged up sooner...The thread that comes to mind is the one on the Lapland adventure ... many more people could have lost a lot of money.
It has to worth a try as it is costing us nothing.0 -
Am a bit confused about this- is the rating of a thread done anonymously, with the recommendation going to the team, flagging up interesting/helpful info that could have been overlooked? Or does the "rater's" thumbs up appear on a thread?
Are those who have "the button" supposed to be posting on a thread a comment to say they have rated it?0 -

When a thread is rated, the MSE team can see the thread url, the top post content, how many people have rated it and the usernames of the raters. The purpose of it is explained in Martin's comment here.
And no, those who rate a thread do not have to post on a thread a comment to say it has been rated. My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.0 -
Hi all, I think there's still some misunderstanding about what the tool's for. Perhaps the button name is still a bit misleading.
Essentially all this is, is a button at the top of a thread that people can click to let the MSE Team know about it, simply because the forum's so huge nowadays it's impossible for us to see everything and it's likely there are some great deals mentioned on here that we could let 3 million more people know about.
If any of you that have posted on here and don't have it, do want to get it so you can see for yourself please do PM me.
Andrea
