Buy it Now Request for an expensive bag and shipping to Germany

Hi there, I had a quick question and wondered whether anyone may be able to offer advice.
I am selling an expensive bag on ebay, a one off genuine sale but at a reduced price for a quick sale (trying to raise some funds for Christmas).
I was asked if I would consider a buy it now price in order that they could purchase it in time for it to arrive in Germany before Christmas. I had said I would be happy to accept £950.00 UK pounds. They have now emailed to say they would be happy to pay that amount but would I mind if they paid direct into my bank account as I would receive it faster than if they paid via paypal. They also added that I would also save on the paypal fees if I accepted payment this way.
If they purchase the item, ebay will provide them with my full name and address. My question is, if I provide them with my bank name, sort code and account number, will the be able to commit fraud????
They have 211 feedback rating at 100% and appear to be genuine but I’d just like a second opinion.
Thanks in advance

This sound v dodgy to me - I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole! The who point of PayPal is to keep sellers (and buyers) secure. This is a lot of money we're talking about here so my advice is play it safe.
Best wishes

I'd accept the loss in paypal fees and tell them paypal or no sale, at least you are covered.0

I'm sorry, but as far as I'm aware, the only thing someone can do with your details is pay money into your account. OK someone will tell you about Jeremy Clarkson having a direct debit set up in his name, but then that's covered by the direct Debit guarantee so you won't loose out.
I'm sure there'll be several people coming along soon saying how they wished that all their buyers would pay this way. Paypal protects the buyer far more than the seller, so it's them who are going to lose out rather than you.
So I'd say go for it!
** EDIT ** If it's doesn't arrive, then they won't be able to do a Paypal chargeback if they pay you directly.
Also, how many cheques have you given to people. Not only do they contain the same information, but also your signature, so are a far greater risk.0 -
Hi again, thanks for your help so far. I agree, as much as Paypal is a pain I felt it would be the better option and asked the buyer to pay via that way.
I have since received an email from the buyer advising she was unable to send the funds via the internet so called paypal to make the transaction. My paypal account has now been restricted as I dont have a credit card registered and am not verified although the money is not showing up in my account. The item is still listed on ebay too - very strange.
Paypal have emailed me to advise that an adviser may call ( due to European Union anti-money laundering regulations) but when I try to call them on the contact number provided I just get some useless options.0 -
bank account details safe! sorry have to disagree, 3 months ago a high street store refunded me back for a faulty toy. Yesterday I saw on my statement that 3 months on they took back the refund!
The store said it's my banks fault, the bank said it's the stores fault and finally computer error! sorry but if someone like a trusted high street store can take money from my account after 3 months, no way would i give my details to someone I meet on ebay.0 -

They have it as they are emailing you and you can't pay anyone over the phone with Paypal. The item is still listed on ebay too - very strange. The item will still be there unless the auction has ended or you changed the listing to a buy it now and the person 'bought' it.
