Is it too much of a cheat birthday cake to buy 2 Dancake chocolate rolls (£1 each in Somerfields) and cover them in chocolate frosting as a quick yule log style b'day cake

That would be known as a full on Delia moment in my house!!

After you were all so great talking to me about CM's and nurseries, this idiot comes along to basically tell me I don't love my child

Normally I would make one from scratch but given energy levels at the moment I think if i made everything from scratch I would have to go to bed before the party even started:p26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

There are occasionally strong opinions on what is often described to be a 'huggy' thread which often makes the disagreements even more obvious!
You are doing the right thing for YOUR family then tough bollox to anyone else who disagrees with you.
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -

I wonder if you'll get a response, hopefully something more considered than their original post!
How hypocritical to say my wife is a great childminder, but kids are better off at home! Way to market your wife's skills mate! bit like saying "have you met the new butcher, he's a vegetarian!"
You're right to be mad DD - i'm mad for you!!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

Aww hun. Take it with a pinch of salt. You know (and we know) that you do EVERYTHING humanly possible to keep your baby happy and from the anecdotes he strikes me as a very contented little boy. I intend to go back to work full time and 'dump' my child at a nursery and if I let wishy washy smug people who don't know me from Adam upset me I would be a mental wreck.
For what its worth I think you stood up for yourself very well and I think you are fabulous.26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

DD,
Ignore the !!!!!!.
As a former childminder-I see his point (made in a very bad way) in that people will try and leave kids in their chosen childcare facility because they are worried/concerned about missing work etc but he makes it in a very BAD way. I know how stressed and upset you were finding the right childcare for Elliot and DO NOT listen to his words-he cannot judge you as he does not know you.
We know how much you love Elliot. Btw, how did he get on with his spacer last night?Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -

Just read the end of yesterday's thread - think these coments are totally out of order - he did sound totally smug and judgmental - as a single parent with 4 kids I have had to make difficult choices about how to care and provide for my children - I chose to study and work - relying on childcare and family help at varying times - I don't believe my children have suffered - I have 4 intelligent, independent, strong and socially aware children who make me proud everyday!
No one else has the right to judge the choices parents make in order to do what they think is best in relation to thier children/childcare/working - Take no notice! you know what is right in your situation!0
