NTL Price match

I'm currently with NTL Freedom as I'm not in a cable area, but when I move house in two weeks I will be changing to cable broadband. I have been with NTL for about 3 years and after reading several threads on here about ringing up Customer Retentions to get a better deal, I did that.
At the moment when I intially rang up to inform them of my move they put me on the 1mb broadband, free evenings and weekends deal for £24.99 a month. My mum is currently on £9.99 a month. Now I know this is a completely different offer, but when I rang the guy (who was really nice and helpful!) said I could have 2mb BB and free evening and weekend calls for £26.99 or find a better deal with a competitior and he would match it.
So the question is - what are the good deals out there? I already mentioned tiscali because I thought it was cheaper, but when you add line rental to BT its the same.
Any help greatly received.
