Quick question which i am unclear on. Is it compulsory for all property for sale to have a hip ? I know that some properties that were put on the market before the deadline last year have not had one. Are there any new rules coming in which means these properties must now have a hip ? thanks

Hi
No - properties which were marketed prior to the introduction of HIPs and which are still currently marketed do not require a HIP. They do however require an energy performance certificate (from 1st October). There are no plans for this to change at the present time.0 -
There have been rumours going round that all properties may need one soon but I dont think it will introduced now!0

New regulatons were laid in Parliament on Monday, which highlighted the forthcoming HIP changes - no 'drop dead date' was mentioned, so I can't see this coming in at all now.0

April 1st for the new HIP legislation isn't it? Still no mention of a drop dead date though.0

Thanks guys for your help. Whats a drop dead date ? A night out with a hot blond ....?;)0
-
The drop dead date refers to a date when all properties, even those that were on the market prior to HIPs would need a HIP.0

No! its the date for when all properties will need a HIP.0
