i have officialy had the worst day of my life today among other things going wrong i have managed to loose my new contract mobile that i have only had for not even a week
i took out the contract and was going to return as the phone is way to advanced for me its one of those full touch screen pc mobiles sumsang onima (i have not used any mins or texts)and realising that i can not really afford the £25pm over 24m i made sure that there was a cooling off period that if i did not like the phone i could return and was told that i had 14 days but after going in to town shopping today went into near enough every shop and it was hectic i have returned home with no phone i know i had it when i left home this morning i have aslo tried ringing it and its just saying this persons phone is not avalible
i took out the insurance with the phone as having a 2 and 3 yr old things tend to get broke but i really do not know where to start and what to do as i cant really go and cancel the contract with no phone to return
any advice would be really appreciated im sat here kicking myself im so:mad:

Go and have a large brandy, you deserve it after a day like that...
You'll have to clam on the insurance and get a new phone, but I'm fairly sure you're going to be stuck with the contract now (sorry), but I've never heard of this happening before...
All I could suggest is to sell the phone to off set the cost of the monthly fee, which is not a lot of help I admit...0 -
well....
if your not able to cancel your contract which you are most likely to not be able to.
then follow these steps:
1. buy a cheap £80 off ebay (try to get the best phone for that value)
2. go to gumtree then list that you want to transfer your contract to someone elses name because you have got 2 contracts and u cant cancel offer the phone with it
3. every day update the ad on gumtree so it does not become old.
4. you will have to have patience and sooner or later someone will call you and put the contract on their name you will lose money but no where as much as to paying the bills of the contract.
this is what happened to me but instead of my phone getting stolen it broke completely and the company couldnt fix the phone so i transfered my contract to someone else it took approx a week for some one to call for the contract.

can this be done then
would the person not just go an buy the same contract deal themselfs0 -
Dont forget if the phone was stolen you usually need to report it to the Police within 24 hours and get a crime reference ,otherwise the insurance may not pay out. You also need to tell the Network in case someone gets hold of it and runs up large bill.0

It wasn't stolen, it was lost the OP says.
Still contact the network quick so they can block it as soon as possible.
It wouldn't surprise me if it hadn't already been used to make loads of expensive calls.0
