M&S £5 off voucher

Here's the reasoning:
1. They won't scan at Tesco (barcode systems are different) and
2. They don't fit within Tesco policy as they are NOT a 'no-strings' conditional spend voucher*
* for anyone unaware of this, Tesco accept certain other stores' conditional spend vouchers but ONLY if they are simply '£5 off a £25 spend' type vouchers (not '£5 off a £25 spend on food/home/clothing/whatever). The voucher must not have a product or range stated on it.
Here's a link to a recent thread about Sainsburys conditional spend vouchers being accepted at Tesco:

I keep getting very mixed messages from Tesco re their voucher acceptance.
Head Office says they will take them, BUT none of my Tescos will.
They refused the Waitrose one last week - which again Head Office said they should accept.
I suppose it is worth a go, but couldn't face another half hour queue at cs on a hectic shopping day and just meet a brick wall.
Apparently my stores don't give 2 hoots what Head office says.
No doubt if they were being overly generous to customers and Head office got in touch to pull them into line they would quickly do as instructed. But when it comes to enforcing company policy and giving something back to the customer they suddenly play dumb:cool:0 -
There are some new ones due out any day to use in January. Each leaflet will have 4 , £5 off £25 coupons (wk1, wk2, etc).0

It is very frustrating isn't it? My OH was told by Tesco HO that they should take the recent Waitrose £10 off a £60 spend coupon so he tried to use one and was refused. He called Tesco CS on his mobile and they spoke to the store CS who then refunded him the £10. I don't know the opening hours of HO CS but this was mid afternoon last Saturday, so try shopping at a time when you can call HO if necessary. It may not work for you but I hope it does.0 -
