Yep, my local Tesco stores have said no to these as well.

It's not surprising really as they don't scan (I'm guessing they are manually inputting it as a non-scan coupon in any store that's allowing them).

But it's still odd that the Tesco email to stores in December (posted by Hales somewhere on this board) clearly says Boots & M&S conditional spend vouchers are acceptable.

This is new to the policy, it's the first time either of those stores have been listed. But neither of them would scan - Boots & M&S use different barcode systems from the Supermarkets - so how do Head Office expect stores to take them like they do the Sainsburys/Morrisons/Waitrose versions?

Quite agree Coupon-Mad, HO make all these brilliant decisions but don't think it through. HO probably haven't worked out that Boots & N&S use different barcode systems!

Will just need to spend mine in M&S!

Ditto - well almost, but in reverse - SA then CSD then checkout team leader! Only Sainsburys vouchers they said - so off to M&S I go...

There are some reasonable discounts to be had in M&S using the vouchers, for example some of their organic pasta is half price (89p) but minus the discount they work out at £0.71 per packet.

Petit pois at £1.55 for a 500g bag, BOGOF

Half price Cornish Cruncher cheddar with balsamic onions, £1.35 per pack.

And many other offers - surely these will change week-by-week too, so more surprises to be had! I bet that soon all the Christmas goods will go down, including flower bulbs.

I know, you can get cheaper in some stores, but I figure that I might as well enjoy M&S quality at a lower price for 1 month - feels like a treat and it is not too expensive.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Our Tescos had a large official sign outside saying "Tescos will accept M&S Conditional vouchers i.e. Spend £25 on food and get £5 free"
Never give up the dream!

Now that IS interesting...IMHO when one store gets these then a lot of other stores do as well. We should all keep our eyes peeled for such a banner - and I may ask again this week, I'll choose a different member of staff.
