Arriving in London around 1130 on Sat going back on Sun 1400 what is the best ticket to get for tube and bus travel, intend using tube quite a bit, going as far west as Earls Court but mainly just in and around the centre.
The London Transport site is full of deals about Oyster card but i thought these were aimed more at weekly/monthly users?
All help appreciated.

An all day travelcard is £5.90 and this covers all tubes/buses and will allow you to get to E Court from the centre - if you are only going to go one stop the next day it is £4.00 for a single on the tube or £2.00 on the bus - hope that helpsKeep the Faith:cool:0

Agree, a Travelcard is your best bet. Have a lovely weekend!0

If you're going to be using the tube/bus a lot then the travelcard is the best deal.
Otherwise get a PAYG Oyster card for a 3pound deposit. Top it up with a tenner and use it for all your travel for the weekend, then as you leave hand it in and you'll get the deposit and unused credit back. Oyster is definitely designed for people who spend a lot of time in London, but you can use it in your favour if you want to!0 -
You can also get a day pass on the bus for £3.50.Looking forward to the future.0

As you need a ticket for the 2 days, I would say get an Oyster card. You can pick one up instatly at tube ticket offices no forms to fill in or anything. It will be capped at 50p less than a travelcard, as PBA said stick a tenner on it and that is the most you will need to spend.
Make sure you touch in and out at either end of each tube journey, just once on buses or you will get a penalty charge and find your £10 has gone !!0 -
We ar coming to London for a shopping day in January on a Wednesday and will get there for about 9:30am and will want to be back to Kings Cross for 6:30pm so what will be the best pass for us please?
Sorry to hijack this thread.0 -
Fares go up on 2nd Jan, 1 day travelcard zones 1-2, should cover the main shopping areas, will be £5:60 or an Oyster card £5:10 max. These are off peak prices, off peak starts at 09:30, so if you arrive a bit early well worth hanging around a few minutes, probably be queing at the ticket office anyway.
If you are travelling with chilren under 11 they go free with an adult using an Oyster card, or for £! with an adult travelcard holder.
Plenty of reading, maps, prices and good journey planner HERE0 -

The person who started this thread wants to travel on Saturday and Sunday (as far as I'm aware)
And to the best of my knowledge, there is no peak time on a weekend. Please correct me if I'm wrong.0 -

Does the travel cards work to 24 hour of first use or are they midnight to midnight?0
