Can't get into my equifax til later today as ordered a report yesterday.
Saying that, I had asked Shop Direct to close an old account so hopefully it's nothing too sinister.Capital one £200 - bal nil. Aqua £350 - bal nil

It's nothing to worry about, the Shop Direct Group (Littlewoods / Next / Kays etc etc) when either increasing your credit limit or closing an old account will come up as an update for "Legal Direct Recoveries" - I got an update this month from it - all it was is an increase to my Littlewoods credit balence.

Hi,
Legal Direct Recoveries will be a debt collection agency that Littlewoods use when your account goes into default and they have tried unsuccessfully to bring your payments back up to date.
If you have defaulted on your a/c in this way, then this will have an impact on your credit rating and you should obviously take steps to try and resolve this debt.
I think (most of) the examples on this thread are where the name Legal Direct is appearing incorrectly on your file. e.g. Littlewoods recently acquired the Empire book and your a/c will have transferred across to Littlewoods. In this instance you have incorrectly recieved an alert to say the a/c is now with Legal Direct when it should say Littlewoods. Don't worry, other lenders will not see this and it will not effect your credit rating. When your a/c gets updated by Littlewoods it should update to the correct name.
I am ahead of payments and have never fallen into arrears and yet LDR have appeared on my Equifax Credit Report several times over the last several years saying that my Credit Limit has been increased and the amounts match what my catalogue companies have increased my credit limits to. I am very worried about this appearing on my credit history though as it looks bad when in theory it is not. I will be contacting my cataloque companies to ask them !!!!!! is going on. I have never missed a payment and have always paid more than the amount due!0 -
hi
sorry for digging this thread up again - I am rather concerned as like others I've just had Legal Direct Recoveries added to my Equifax report but saying in arrears. I do have a Littlewoods account but I'm paying the agreed amounts with them and I don't recognise the account number they are quoting. I had a catalogue with Empire a long long time ago but that account closed and was all up to date. Worried as I've had no letters etc - any thoughts?
PS - I'm new to this forum so hello

Hi.

Query it with Littlewoods/Empire etc and add a dispute via Equifax asking them to query it as well.
I've seen a few of these added in error which are then taken off your file quickly again when challenged, so hopefully it's no more than temporary mistake.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I have this issue too.
I have a littlewoods account and I have receved an alert from Equifax regarding a credit limit change recently.
However rather than it saying Shop Direct Group it shows as Legal Direct Recoveries.
Should I have any concerns? Is it worth raising the issue with Equifax?Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0
