I think you are wrong therew as even if you go to the box office you still get charged a booking fee per ticket and a credit/debit charge per ticket even if it is only one card transaction. God knows what box office you use
You've not bought tickets at a box office have you? Manchester Academy, Manchester Evening News Arena and the Manchester Apollo make no charges so long as you pay in cash, I buy all my gig tickets at the box office's of venues. Other Apollo and Academy venues are free of booking fee's at the box office too.0 -
Well if you read my post above you will see I have bought them or I would never have made the statement in the first placedrinkupretty wrote: »You've not bought tickets at a box office have you? Ok a few venues may charge, although I have not experienced this as many large entertainment venues do not put charges on the tickets at their own box office. It is worth phoning the venue first as you could save a lot of money, I go to a lot of gigs and I never pay service charges at the box office.0 -
Yes I warn people NOT to buy Ticketmaster ticket vouchers as presents as they are a real pain to use. Agree about how rude the staff is as well.0

youll find that most venues do charge booking fees for tickets purchased at their box office
the usual exemptions are:
pay by cash
events they are promoting themselves
if you go into a shop, they dont charge you a 'till usage fee'
the venues box office costs should be met out of their hire charges
ticket agents should be buying the tickets like a retailer, less than face value, then charge the advertised price.0
