Sadly it's so short, he'll have finished the single player by the time the turkey's cooked, but he'll probably enjoy doing it...;)0 -

Still, probs worth a look. Especially since Play have it for £9.99...
Plus, what's better on Christmas Day - The Queen's Speech, or The King Of All Cosmos' ROYAL RAINBOW!

If it's any help my 8 yo son finished cod5 in 3 days!! He much prefers resistance 2 (especially for online play).xxx Nikki xxx0

The single player campaign on CoD4 was done in one 5 hour sitting, CoD5 was done over two sittings and I think about the same amount of time. Going back to get the achievement points is what takes the time

Wow, if your son plays it again that could be 8years x 2 = 16 years, old enough to play the game 2nd time around

Of course he prefers Resistance 2 to COD5. He's 8 - he'll prefer the 18-rated game to the 15-rated game...
If you got Fable 2 for him, you could both live out some pseudo-bounty-hunting-fantasy relationship. And you could kill his annoying relatives (in-game... - you're not getting out of Christmas that easily!)
Mirror's Edge is a quirky FPS-action game, which may be worth a look if he expressed any interest in it. Or, if you're looking for something you might be able to get hold of easier than a brand new game, I'd suggest Far Cry 2. And throw in a copy of Bioshock/Beautiful Katamari (can you tell I'm a massive fan?), to change the scenery, depending on whether you want the scenery to change to horror, or David Seaman's old goalkeeping top, respectively.

Youcan also get some great deals on the Orange Box these days (around a tenner iirc) - one of those games that a lot of people never got round to getting, because they'd played HL2 on the PC etc, but at that kinda price, it has to be worth owning.0

Forgot to mention this:

Could be a billy bargain at that price.0 -
Little Big Planet for the PS3 is good for a laugh (And both of you can play together):idea:0

Wow, boy do I feel like I've opened up a big can of worms!! Many thanks for all the responses. I wasn't expecting so many.
Far Cry 2 he traded it in just before the prices dropped and he got £24 for it. He was well pleased! And Bioshock he's only just managed to part with after buying the special edition when it first came out. Mirror's Edge, his brother has and I think he's intending to "borrow it" after he's done with it. The Rainbow Games were rinsed to hell! I think he took a few days off work and didn't move from the recliner. Lol.
Beautiful Katamari/Little Big Planet - If it were a present for me, definately!
I've decided to get him Dead Space. I know he's like a lot of horror-type games in the past (FEAR and The Darkness come to mind). I won't start the debate of whether to get the PS3 or the Xbox 360 version, because we'll be here all day (hee, hee). I've decided to get him the PS3 one anyway because I've read that the sound and picture quality is better (And it's only £25 on Play).
I won't be telling you his gamertag though, he's also a forum fiend. Lol!
Many thanks again.
