Which game shall I get my OH?

Hello all,

This is my first time posting on this part of the forum, so please direct me elsewhere if I'm posting in the wrong place. I'm really stuck I need some help from the gamers that may be on this board.

My OH is a gamer and he has an annoying habit of buying most games as and when they come out, so buying a gift is a nightmare. I think we're close enough to Christmas that he's not going to buy anymore within the next two weeks.

He really likes his shooters and from browsing Play, Amazon, etc, I've narrowed it down to 3 possibilties:

Resistence 2 on the PS3
Call of Duty 5 on the 360
Dead Space on the 360.

Can anyone tell me which are these are the best? Which would they recommend? (My sincere apologies for being so vague about all this.)

(PS, his parents are buying his Saints Row 2 and he already has GOW2 and Left4Dead.)

Dead Space is really good. Call of Duty 5 is a disapointment (to me anyway) compared to Call of Duty 4.

Does he play online at all?

Red alert 3 is good but unsure if they do a ps3 or xbox360 version

Yes, he does. A LOT! (not that I mind though, lol!). I thought about getting him a new Gold Membership for his 360 (his expires in Feb 09)

Its been out about 8 weeks on PC

Its a war strategy type game where you command troops/vehicles its bene a very successful game

It rated higher on pc though but a list of score and review below

Dead space...lights off....sound up (or, in my case, headphones). w00t (as the kids say)
Call of Duty 5 (World at war) is, as anewhope says, not as good as 4 (but still pretty good...and zombie mode gets a big two thumbs up)

How about Gears Of War 2 for the 360?

If he doesn't have them, can recommend gears2, fallout 3 and Fable 2.

Left4 Dead and EndWar may also be worth a look, although I've not played them myself.

I'd like to recommend COD5, but don't see it as being in the same league as the above, especially if he's already played 4
(if he hasn't, buy him that! )

Gears 2 - He has
Fallout 3 - He has
Left 4 Dead - He has
Fable 2 - He's bought for Xmas for me:D
End War - He's bought for his brother for Xmas (PS3)

See, told you he was annoying.

I know he's had the other COD games, and for him to have not bought COD5 already, it probably means he's not interested.
