Well then I think you have no recourse really, I think it states somewhere in RM's T&C's about sending cheques and that they should be sent recorded.0

Most of what royal snail do (higher management) do is all about cost cutting. Getting someone to sit around until it's the specified time to leave is because some smart !!!!!! has done a "walk test" basically someone is timed as to how long a certain walk/round takes on an "average" day and then the times have to be followed, yeah right!
When a postie is absent his walk is offered out usually as overtime hence why you either get no post or it's at 4pm! When my OH worked at RM he had to do the overtime to supplement his wage, as for Xmas bonus it was a book of stamps!Panda on My Shoulder
If you can make it cheaper do so. If it's not reduced, in Primark, off ebay or free I can't have it :rotfl:0 -
Royal Mail gets slammed time and time again, but do any of you really think that it will be any better with an alternative company? For one thing they won't deliver to every UK address, only the ones in selected regions, it will cost you far more money per item, just like sending a parcel with TNT rather then RM. I worked for RM/Parcelforce for 7 years, starting as an HGV Driver before being made redundent as a Manager, IT has some excellent people, some excellent products and does far more then you would realise. For the people that are slammimng it, please use another courier - you have the choice, but I know from working for a few of them that their QofS on deliveries is no better and in may cases worse then RM's, but you will being paying more then double if not more then you would for RM.0

I ordered an X-box game, I was lucky place the oder and to get it sent because of the high demand. That went missing in the post before christmas. Thieving staff in the sorting office.

Hi, might be a bit late to post this but I work for one of the high street banks and they do not charge for stopping a lost cheque (obviously it's cheaper for them to stop a cheque than to risk later having to pay out on one which has been encashed fraudulently). I'm sure that this is true for all banks - might be worth checking next time.0

My Dad used to work for a very large sorting office his advice to me was
Never put do not bend on anything, You get stupid postman who think its funny to bend peoples photos!
Also do not send any parcels 1st class because 1st or second they all get chucked together it would take far too long to sort them.(this may have changed now, it was a few years ago)
But it makes sense doesn't it?0 -

I have found a good solution for our business, we have stoped using the RM, and now use another company, the royal mail is a farce and the local service to us is crap to put it mildly....
but hey it's a government department so what else would you expect? The futures bright the future is Ginger0
