all i did was to switch my electric supply to british gas and saved myself 10%, powergen was too expensive.
i dont really think theres much to be gained from switching, as they said on watchdog last night to change your tariff and most of our energy can be saved by turning the thermostat down and not leaving things on standby.0 -

You might well be reporting the facts about the problems you experiencing. But this does not mean its an across the board problem does it? Surely everybody is aware you can face problems with switching. But it doesnt mean you should give up the opportunity of saving a few pounds,if you want to do so.
PS. I thought we were supposed to be nice to other MSE users.0 -

It is still a fact unfortunately as Martin says himself on changing energy suppliers "Of course, there’ve been many switching ‘horror stories’ and sadly these still happen, but for most it’s a smooth process with big savings."
You have my full sympathies. Of course everyone likes saving money, but as you have stated the amount sometimes saved is not worth the hassle in the first place. Wouldn't it be great to have a crystal ball and know exactly how something is going to turn out?
Hope all your problems are sorted soon.0 -
i think your'e biggest problem is the econ 7 ,
i have 2 tennants they tried to switch an all electric house on econ 7 from p/gen to b/gas . b/gas only took 1 meter when they tried to claim the 2nd p/gen disputed the changeover and b/gas could not take it. p/gen will not take the other meter back so the house in now supplied by both each controlling 1 meter, they have not had a bill for 10 months, i called the energy watchdog , then b/gas then p/gen spent over 5 hours on phone no result so now we are looking to change to anyother supplier and ask them to take both meters in my name, i will of course give them the tennants forward address when asked so that the arrears can be paid ( think not ). and if the cheeky devils want to talk to me well i'm of course £25 per hour, lets see how they like it up em.
OP good luck with your problem but at least now you may know the cause of the problemDiv 1 Play Off Winners 2007
