As kiddy guy previously pointed out, the reason NEXT take the steps that they do during the sale is beacuse they are so popular. If anyone and everyone could go online next Monday and purchase sale items the servers would just crash and nobody would get anything.

The VIP invites are totally random so think of it as a bonus if you get one but hard luck if you don't.

I'm pretty sure our lives will continue as normal whether we get one or not :cool:

Can someone please tell me what to look for when I login if you get an invite. I spend loads in Next throughout the year and always go to sales when the store opens at 5am. But this is the first year I have brought from the website.

If you are signed up for emails, the invite will come in an email.

You have to book a slot normally.

If not when you sign in to your account, it normally shows you that page/invite, rather than other details.

Or under the options on the right, there will be a tab, saying sale

If you can just see on the top right handside a tab saying sale (next to catgs), you won't have an invite.

I've only had a VIP slot once but still went a silly o'clock in the morning as they didn't have certain items in the sale on line but did in the shop (day before sale, check tags of items, if it's for the sale, a code will be written on the back i.e., 0010 = £10 in sale).

p.s. I used to think people were mad going to the early morning sale, but after going once and getting really good bargains, i'm was hooked!

Oh i always get a VIP pass but by the time i check my e-mails the best slots are gone, also last year i couldn't log in and ended up ordering over the phone :mad: , i wont be bothering this year and will be getting up early for the in store sale, i have bought Next vouchers with all my paypal money .

Just checked my emails from December 2007. I booked my VIP slot on 19 December 2008 around 7pm (it’s when email confirming my registration arrived) by logging into my account. My VIP invite email arrived the next day on 20 December around noon.
VIP slots started on 23 December last year and it looks like it is 22 December this year. So if the timescale is similar to last year there is a chance that VIP slots become available to book tonight.

Thanks for the info Miko - I seem to be logging into my account every 20 mins - driving myself nutty!
