I had a VIP code for last Xmas and the May one and the stuff on the site was rubbish by the time I got to my slot. Last time I got no clothing just homeware - and most of that went back. I think people just order as much of everything as they posibly can and return what they do not need. I've lost heart with Next to be honest as ther eis nothing left on the VIP slots. I've rather go back to sitting there for 2 hours on Bonxing Day morning fighting the refresh button when it keeps on crashing. At least I used to get something!!

I've only been to the Next Sale once. I have never seen anything like it and you have to wonder how desperate some people are. They were literally strippiong the rails of everything, in every size and then chucking it at their mates who were sitting in a corner and sorting out the sizes they wanted in that style, the rails were empty and there were people sat in mounds of clothing on the floor.

From that day on I vouched never again! I just get the cheaper 'basic' stuff in their ranges, it lasts just as well and is usually around the same price or cheaper than the stuff that goes into the sale. The Next Sale is just way too stressful for me!!
  • I totally agree with Blue Monkey. I have a friend who lives abroad and she often comes home for christmas. She wanted to go to the next sale early and we went when it opened. I would never do it again. People were pushing and shoving.

I did get a vip slot last time and I ordered some boots which were great value but the clothes that were left were rubbish. What also annoys me is that things don't arrive in one go, it can be weeks and weeks later. If I get a slot I will have a look and order some bits but I certinally won't loose any sleep over it if I don't.
  • I am not saying I do not like Next I am saying I do not agree with the way the VIP slots are given - and I get offered and take them. Some of us cannot get into stores (my son is ASD so there is no way I'd take him to a sale, we rarely go to town) so it would be nice to be able to get SOMETHING bearing in mind the amount of clothes he gets through, but because of the way they do it there is nothing left when I get a chance to log on - it is even worse after the sale starts. Hence my saying I would rather they do it the way they used to. You'll still get your 'bonus' but that way everyone gets a fair crack at the whip - if the site crashes most of the time the stuff is in the basket anyhow. It is the way it used to be and I used to be able to get something in those days. Getting up at 6am to log on to go shopping on 27th December!! Logging on at 5.45 and refreshing the screen over and over until you could get in! Those were the days.

It is the same with Tesco and their giving some customers a chance at booking their Xmas deliveries early meaning all the slots went.

Why pick and choose who gets first choice, why not let it be a free for all so that everyone gets something? If they gave out special invites to the store by post so only a select few people could buy the sale stuff I wonder who would find this fair!

PS. I disagree with what you are saying kiddy guy because Next do have sales to get rid of stuff they have over-produced and is not selling - hence them having 'Mid Season' and 'End of Season' Sales. They also offer Free Delivery discount codes to encourange you to buy online!! My friends and I will sit with the new catalogue and pick out the stuff we know is going to be in the 'End of Season Sale' because a lot of it is rubbish and overpriced!
