  • I was terrible at keeping check on statements, especially during the sale. It was only when an order went missing that I paid more attention. I learnt that the easiest way to check is by looking at the invoice number. It is the 5 digit number after the item number on your delivery note. I usually hole punch all the delivery notes into a file and when the statement comes I get a highlighter and go through the invoice numbers, matching them together on the note and in the statement. I use a different colour for returns. If there is a discrepancy it usually shows up in the end. Sounds really long but it isn't - it really is a must for me when I spend a lot, especially when family have ordered too.

You sound like an accountant! Thats what I do too.

Went to use a bag I bought in the sale yesterday for the first time, massive hole along the seam. Was £70 originally   Really bad quality. This is the third thing I've bought in the sale that I haven't been impressed with at all.

not impressed with the sale at all. Ordered about 30 items on the vip day 22nd dec. Only 10 items have arrived so far. Got my statement yesterday and was horrified to find that i have been charged for the 30 items. Just as well i keep tabs on these things. So after a 15 call to customer services i have had the other 20 items refunded to my account. What angers me is that i was told that they will not be getting any of the stock that was missing back in stock. Still i suppose its saved me a few pounds. Might not bother next year with the sale. It does put you off i think.
  • I got my statement today & was really surprised to see almost £15 of service charges on my account. The due date for payment was 1st Feb & by that date all my returns AND my payment had been processed on the account to bring the balance down to zero.

I phoned up and had a long conversation with the CS dept who seemed very confused about the whole issue. He said that the returns should have hit the account by the 1st Jan to not incur a service charge. After I pointed out that my items wern't even delivered until new years eve, so that wouldn't have been possible he did agree to refund the charges.

I would really like to know how the charges are generated

I got one of those too. I guess they have you on the system for any returns - which is a good thing really. I desperately wanted the pink jumper but it was 5-10 days for delivery and never arrived. But I waited and waited - it arrived about 3 weeks ago, LOL, totally out of the blue. It is lush, cost just £5 and I am wearing it as I type. Sorry if it was not for you and returned it but I love it and wish I had ordered more of them!!

I received an email too stating that I am not going to receive 4 items - I had one of the earliest slots so that's pretty poor IMO.

I am really disappointed because I ordered some boots that I really needed and now it's too late to get them in any other sale.

yep i had first slot, on the first day too, and ive just had an email saying they cant fulfill the order

I dont know why it all went wrong this year. They say until you check-out the items arent 'yours', but their computer must be able to update stock as people checkout, so there shouldnt be any lost stock

Also, so many parcels went missing this year, so perhaps the picker/packers need to be retrained

With todays technology it can't be that difficult to know how much stock you have and how many customers want to buy it. Bad practice to sell goods that you don't have.

yep in same boat what gets me about next this time round is that they must have cost us a fortune in petrol as the order has been getting delivered in dribs and drabs and when they ring up and I take the call but its my wifes accounts, they say just tell the account holder that the missing items are now in, when I ask what the missing items are they say sorry we cant tell you because of the data protection act, government can loose your details but next cant tell you what has been delivered strange world what am I going to do with the knowledge that my wife has ordered another top for the kids :)
