  • Sorry if this has already been covered above (I couldn't see it), but is there usually a lot more instore than on line?
I bought a pair of baby shoes for my daughter earlier at £8 and noticed that there is a 4 written in pencil on the back of the label. I presume this was staff marking things ready for the sale.
When I checked online (usig the link someone very helpfully posted yesterday) there are no baby shoes coming up? I guess maybe they were there before but are sold out now?

As far as I can tell, the online and instore sales are separate (to start with at least.) The online sale sells off all the stuff in the warehouse of the online department. That stuff appears to have all but gone.

The instore sale sells off all the stuff thats physically in the actual shops. So it's a bit hit or miss as to what you might find, but you are likely to find a good amount of stuff, however as all stores don't carry the entire range, you might not be able to buy a specific item, especially if you haven't seen it in that store. And if there are more than one Next shop locally, you might find the stock gets moved around a bit for the sale. For example there are 3 Next stores in Peterborough, and two of them have fairly rubbish sale stock, whereas the third (at Hampton) seems to have the bulk of the goods sent there for the sale.

If you order online and get a 1-2 week delay, that generally means that the online warehouse doesn't have the stock there, but that they can reasonably expect to get it returned from either a customer or a store. You may or may not get these items, I've had random bits turn up months after the sale before but if you haven't seen it within a week or so, don't hold your breath!

    Hope that helps.

in sales past i have had items on a 1-2 week or 2-4 week delay and over the years i have managed to recieve just about everything, only the odd item never turned up, so i would say ive been very lucky, i think when you are ordering in the tail end of the sale and it says 2-4 week delay there is more chance you dont get items, as this is when its happened to me, anyone else agree, i think next have been great with my orders in the past.

Yeah it's the 32gb. Haven't opened the box as it's in cellophane so don't know about the buttons and built in speaker but going by the model number it's def the 1st gen.

    Goodmorning :D

Just an update, I rand Next last night and asked when ipod arrives can we still send it back once we have opened it and she said she would check and came back & said that it doesnt say you cant.

Ive been looking on the internet to find how much of a difference there is between the 1st & 2nd generation and it doesnt seem to be much. The 1st generation doesnt have a speaker but you can get something called an iblock for that Ive given you link for one at amazon.

Also on apple website you can upgrate a 1st generation with the same sofware as 2nd generation here is link

    Hope this helps.

  • I just rang too and was told my courier should have come yesterday, which he didn't, and that he also has parcels that he should deliver today too, so I assume he's snowed under. I hope he comes today :)
