Hi,
I hope someone can guide me into getting my money back.
My story so far:
I have just logged into my internet banking and seen a payment for "14.03" from "TMTI".
I have done some reserach and found that this is linked to phone insurance, however, I am on o2 simplicity (for those who dont know - a phone is not included in the contract, therefore o2 dont offer insurance with it as far as i know).
I have read a lot about people having a contract with e2save and having this payment, LAST YEAR i had a contract with e2save - i cancelled my insurance and never made a payment - therefore this is a huge surprise to me.
Can anyone help me? How do I get get my money back? If i contact the bank can they get the refund or would i have to go through someone else?
Any help is appreciated - thankyou!

Hi, try not to worry. This has happened to me about 3 times. Its often an admin error. Call your bank tomorrow and tell them you do nto recognise the transaction. They will run through a few things and might send you a form but you are likely tog et it re-credited. When it happened to me last time Capital One took about 63 quid but i didnt have a Capital One card and apparently it was an admin error where my account got debited by mistake. The banks tend to be pretty good (unusally)
Best of luck0 -
Sorry just re-read your thread, if it has been taken by mistake you might need to call up the company and put them straight. This happened to me with Card Cover and they debited my accoutn with 70 quid but i had cancelled it the year before but they credited it back right away0

thankyou for your reply.
I have not heard of TMTI before, I am only guessing they are linked to my previous phone contract with e2save as I found a similar thread on this issue.
I will try and call Natwest tomorrow like you suggest and say that I do not recognise this, do you know how long the process took for you?
is it a form bascially to say this is fraudulent?

I think that, seeming as I have had no contact from e2save or regarding insurance it is an admit account. The original contract with e2save (which ended october this year) was for 12 months, would I have had to ring them up and cancel anything?
I just rang up o2 and changed to a rolling monthly contract..0 -
Just ring TMTI to cancel and they'll refund you!
Nothing like making a drama out of it!0 -
Thanks tinkerbell, but the problem is I cant find any contact info online for TMTI. Plus, if i have had no previous contact with them - how will they be able to look up my details and offer a refund...0

1. google "TMTI"
2. 1st hit is their website.
3. top right of screen has 'contact me'
4. phone them
5. give your name and address and they'll find your record.
6. tell them you want to cancel and they'll refund you.
and if the above is too complex for you, i've done the first 3 for you.

If it is a Direct Debit contact you bank and demand the money back under Direct Debit Guarantee. They should return it immediately
http://www.bacs.co.uk/BACS/Consumers/Direct+Debit/Your+rights/If an error is made by the organisation or your bank or building society, you are guaranteed a full and immediate refund from your branch of the amount paid0 -
Update people:
I rang TMTI this morning and told them my postcode and they knew my details from then on. I didnt demand anything, in fact the woman was very friendly and offered me the money back straight away - not only that they charged me money in June i hadnt noticed... so i am getting 2 * what i thought i was wrongly charged. This should be in a few days so il let you know if it all goes to plan!0 -
Agsnu is correct, Thankyou so much btw, I noticed on my account it had £17.94 taken from a direct debit. After buying a phone from Carphone Warehouse. I specifically called them and requested the do not sign me up to any insurance. I remember receiving a letter about the gadget helpline, so I rang up TMTI and said take me off. They confirmed over the phone that they had. However they still set up this scam and took my money. Also noticed they cunningly changed their name in the DD so my statement showed up as TMT1 not TMTI which threw me at first. A call to bank, who at first tried to fob me off to TMTI, worked. I said I had not authorised this DD, and therefore was covered under my guarantee. They eventually refunded me by giving me a 'direct debit indemnity' although amazingly they said. "watch your account as this company might be able to set it up again!?) How is this legal??0
