Dyson Customer Service

My Dyson is over 2 years old and a flexible piece of tubing on the bottom of the hoover split. I could not see this part on Dyson's site, so sent them an e-mail and got the following response within 24 hours:
Other companies could learn a thing or two!

I can confirm that as our commitment to good customer service I would like to offer you a replacement internal hose, please allow 5-7 working days for the delivery of this part.
I trust that this information is useful to you

I've had dysons for years and wouldn't use anything else now. Several times I've run customer services (usually because of something I've done!) and they couldn't be more helpful. ie I couldn't remove the filter from it's housing to clean it, they sent me a new filter and a new housing free of charge, I only rang them to see if there was some trick to getting it out ::)0

Yip, I agree with this. I've had numerous replacement parts for my Dyson, all sent promptly and free.
I was about to buy a new clear bin part from ebay (around £20) as the bin had developed a split in the bottom (no idea how).
Anyway phoned Dyson and got one sent out for free.
All this was obviously within the 2 year guarantee period though.Herman - MP for all!0 -
told my dad about this, and they are sending him the bit he needs for his, after trying for ages to get one througha spares shop.0

There was an item about Dyson on a local radio consumer programme. Evidently if you have a major fault with your machine ( such as a burnt-out motor ) just ring them up and they will send an engineer to fix it. The price is about £50 and includes parts , labour and call-out charge. The engineer will do a full service and if he finds anything else wrong or worn on the machine he will replace that as well. All for that inclusive charge of £50! Why can't other companies be that good? What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

All I can say is that Dyson must have had some major policy changes since I dealt with them 4 years ago. They couldn't give a toss that my Dyson had caught fire - cerainly no goodwill.
Thats why I have a Panasonic cleaner now - it just doesn't go wrong - Dyson's & Panasonics are both made in Asia now ::)
Shame Mr Dyson moved his production out of the UK.0 -

Phoned Dyson about 48 hours before our guarantee expired. Bloke turned up within 24 hours, didnt even ask to see any proof, fixed the machine (plus something else he said might go within the next 6 months) & fixed up for us to be sent another spare bit which was still fine but had been superceded.
All for free.
Seemed pretty damned good to me!0 -
I've had a dyson hoover for about 2 years now and they're customer services are excellent, best I've come across (and I'm one normally to whinge about the slightest thing).
I've been through at least 5 step attachements, a flexible hose and another hose that connects something else. Never a question was asked they simply popped a new one in the post under the very generous 3 year guarantee.
They've been so good in fact I'm debating selling mine when the three years is up to buy another one and sell the old one on eaby0
