Hi.. i am having a bit of a clear out on ebay and i am new to it..
i have had a buyer buy some shoes for £60 pounds from me, but they have no rating or feedback - ZERO!
I am very worried after reading threads here that some people pull fast ones and retract bids and claim the item was not delivered and all sorts..
She paid straight away but I asked her in the ebay invoice I sent and a seperate email, if she wants it in a box or bubble wrapped..(already asked by me to be specified by the buyer , on the auction)
I have had no reply.. i am thinking that if she was serious that she would have replied quickly??
Anyway, i will send it recorded delivery.. does this mean that she has to sign on delivery? so cant dispute that it was not delivered..
can anyone advise me what else to do to cover myself?
any help appreciated!

has the buyer paid for it?
i have a buyer not responding to mail but has signed for it
recorded will take a few days to appear on the royal mail website
i would if i was you just send in the box0 -
Recorded delivery only insures for £36. I assume I don't need to help you with the maths, seeing as you have a PhD n' all
Send it Special to be adequately insured. Pull their details and give them a call if you're worried about their non-existent record. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
hi thanks..
she has paid for it and her paypal address is confirmed.. i also found a mobile phone number on paypal.. my fingers are itching!
i am a bit scared!!
so how different is special and recorded delivery.. i may have a phd.. but i have lived in a hole like a ferret until I finished it!!0 -
Special costs more and will insure you for more. I'd ring the mobile and have a chat with themMy TV is broken!

Hi guys.. just wanted to say a big thanks to you all.. i plucked up the courage to call the buyer last night and they seemed genuine.. i will be sending off the shoes today.. boxed!
thanks to you all for the moral support....
FYI i am donating the proceeds from my ebay clearout to Cancer research, i lost my mother to cancer over a year ago.. and i feel happy that i am giving something from stuff that would have just sat there any way and doing my my bit..
:j0 -
Are you donating the sales yourself, or is it through the Missionfish programme?
If you donate via the latter option, you get your fees reimbursed, and also gain extra exposure by displaying the eBay for Charity logo on the listings.

I was going to donate it myself at a charity shop as i wasnt sure how it worked but i have looked in to it now and will do that!
thanks so much:T0 -
guess what the buyer said the item was not as described and is now asking for a refund.... ... why oh why are there people like that out there.. i have asked her to send them back to me and i will issue her a refund..sometimes i think that his ebay thing is not worth the hassle...
i have sold so many things to alot of people and this is the first one like this..i am almost OCD on my descriptions and alway put more than one photo..so i can t believe that she didnt know what she was buying.. she claimed that they were not the size i indicated but bigger than that!?!
i do not offer refunds on the auction, but i still offered her one after she returned them but said i would not refund postage..she was quick to complain but she hasnt replied to this for a couple of days now?
any help?0 -
Did you send the email via ebay? If she wants a refund (minus postage), she needs to send them back to you via recorded delivery first.
Don't do anything until you have received them back, and perhaps send her another message reminding her she needs to send them back.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
