Are you saying you do this deliberately, ie: buy then deny?Seems pretty straightforward to me just claim back the £24 from Royail Mail I doubt you'll have a problem with the buyer signing the lost form as she probably does it all the while. I usually do the same but make sure I go for the auctions where they haven't gone for reg post as paypal always go in your favour with items not received and you can pick up some right bargains
Don't do it too often on the same account though or be stupid enough to sell them later on the same account
Shame on you :mad:Stopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!Cigarettes NOT smoked = 240,945Smoke free days = 11 Years :TCash saved so far = £125,45,110 -
Update: I eventually got the buyers number from Ebay and rang and she claims it has happened with other items she has bought from Ebay, ie: the bank has reversed the payment.
She has now emailed to say she has posted a postal order out to me, will believe it when I see it...Stopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!Cigarettes NOT smoked = 240,945Smoke free days = 11 Years :TCash saved so far = £125,45,110 -

Would you consider contacting recent sellers she has dealt with to see if they had the same problem. Hope you get your payment. The shinbone is a device for finding furniture in a dark room.:TBig thanks to all competition posters:T0 -
I hardly bother with Ebay anymore, Oh how it's changed in 10years, it used to be a friendly place. There's so many others like Andy2342:eek: out there and there's not much help when you meet one.
Best of luck Ragtimeplayer with your problem.0 -
Had this exact same scam happen to me about 6 weeks ago (execpt i only sent normal delivery), sent a game out item was received (feedback left) but then the payment i received was retracted with paypal doing nothing to help what so ever.
Contacted the buyer and they said they had problems with their bank (as they did with you), never heard from them again.
Sorry to say but you wont ever get your money back, paypal WILL protect the scammer at the sellers expense.0 -

Whats your ebay id? I'll make sure I block you.
So are you proud of being a scumbag then?0 -
Ragtimeplayer wrote: »the other thing is, doesn't the buyer have to complete a form saying they never received it? if so, what if she just throws it in the bin, do I still get paid from Royal mail?
From what I have read previously, Royal Mail only contact a relatively small percentage of people in this way about claims for items gone missing.
I don't know if it is entirely at random, or they concentrate more on higher value claims, or it could just depend how busy they are.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. And now that she knows you have her phone number she might be more willing to co-operate and sign the Royal Mail declaration (if she receives one). Things always seem a bit more real when people can phone you up, it's much easier to ignore an email.
You could argue that it is not right that Royal Mail should be out of pocket if she has scammed you and actually received the item - but the if they had done their job properly and had the item signed for and updated the tracking system accordingly then there wouldn't be an issue.
In the perhaps unlikely event that when you open a claim, Royal Mail mysteriously finds the signature and updates the tracking status, you can then try and present this to PayPal as part of your appeal.0 -
Hi
I had exactly the same recently, sent recorded, had feedback and then payment was reversed, buyer claimed his bank card had been stolen and his a/c on hold. Recorded delivery ws not updated on site so Paypal ruled against me. I was advised to report this to the Police as theft which I did. The buyer finally sent me a postal order. I was told by the post office that if you phone their number they can confirm delivery o fhte parcel even though it is not showing on the site. So much for seller protection!!!! The buyer seems to get away with everything. Paypal are also in the wrong because they have told you the payment is cleared and you are safe to send.
It is hopeless trying to talk sense with Paypal, you just don' t get anywhere. I would advise you to go to the Police, they were very helpful in my case and more than happy to deal with it.Hope you get a positive result!!0 -

Something similar here, but opposite side of the fence;
I bought a camera which simply did not arrive. I contacted the seller and She claimed through the post office, who have paid. Just waiting my refund.
But in the same week, I also bought a tripod which was sent recorded and signed for, and did not arrive, no note through the door either. I contacted the seller, who gave me the track and trace and it was marked as "Undeliverable, returned to sender". But it never arrived at the sellers address either.
I went to visit the Sorting Office and made my complaint known. I was told that my postal 'round' is under investigation at the moment, and the week that it happened I did not have my usual postie.
But, its down to the senders to claim, which they have done, just waiting my refund. Its the post office at fault this time, and at this time of year, it is not unknown for hundreds of 'opened' xmas cards to be found in the bins (ie being opened in the hope that a certain percentage have cash in them)..
My ebay rules are:
As a Buyer:
a) Do not buy from anyone with less tham 99% feedback
b) Leave feedback AFTER the seller has left feedback
c) request and pay for Signed for Delivery
d) DONT use Intalink (they are rubbish)
e) Pay by Paypal AND by credit card
As a seller
a) List item accurately
b) Block buyers with less than 98% feedback
c) Only accept Paypal, even though it is rubbish
d) Leave feedback as soon as buyer pays
e) Send item signed for delivery
f) Only go into dispute AFTER contacting buyer
g) As soon as money arrives in paypal account, transfer to Bank
h) Maintain 100% feedback.
i) Be fair0
