  • I think you can file it as item unpaid with ebay as well. I was on the other side of this once - I received an item left good feedback but due to a problem with fraud on my paypal account they cancelled and reversed all of my recent paypal payments so the money got taken off the seller. I was moving house at the time and totally unaware until I eventually got my internet up and running and found the unpaid item strike notice with 4 days left before I got stuck off... I know it's a long shot that the same situation is going on here but I would try to contact her, and if you don't get hold of her then mark the item as unpaid on ebay, file a strike against her and reclaim it with royal mail.
    Bump due 22nd September
  • Hang on the buyer said in feedback " thanks, perfect etc" and a few days later this. If they said thanks, perfect surely they wouldn't give feedback unless item arrived. perhaps they had 2nd thoughts

If it hadn't arrived why would anyone say thanks, perfect

I aint a seller but a buyer and a perfect one at that. I am honest and it annoys me scammers that do this as I am sure it does for sellers who give genuine buyers a bad name

The buyer could successfully claim that they left feedback for the wrong item in a dispute.

  • You will get postage refunded nothing else.Legally she never signed for it so you have not got a foot stand on.As of feedback she can claim she was mistaken.
Legally your problem is with royal mail not her.

I would claim the max I could off Royal Mail. They're fault for not getting a signature - a service which you paid extra for....
  • As stated above, you paid for a signature to be obtained, they didn't obtain it. The post office should have provided you with a receipt, which will have the tracking number on (I assume you must have this as you've tried to track it). That is your proof you paid for them to obtain the signature. To be fair to Royal Mail, I've had several items go missing in the post over my 2 years of trading on feepay (not bad as a percentage though, around 0.05%ish), and in each case, Royal Mail have coughed up the compensation fairly readily when I've presented them with the documents they need, (they're certainly a LOT easier to deal with than PayPal/Ebay's horrible combination! I believe recently their claims procedure has changed, and they may require a printed paypal receipt to 'prove' the value of the item, but that shouldn't be a problem to obtain from your paypal page.

Yeh. They do (or used to anyway) take ages to deal with your compensation request though.

    Sound advice Zen.

I know I would be out of pocket for he court fees but the threat of it might scare her into repaying. I know I wouldn't like to be threatened by a court case for a dvd boxset!

the other thing is, doesn't the buyer have to complete a form saying they never received it? if so, what if she just throws it in the bin, do I still get paid from Royal mail?
Anyone know the answer to this one yet?

Seems pretty straightforward to me just claim back the £24 from Royail Mail I doubt you'll have a problem with the buyer signing the lost form as she probably does it all the while. I usually do the same but make sure I go for the auctions where they haven't gone for reg post as paypal always go in your favour with items not received and you can pick up some right bargains :)

Don't do it too often on the same account though or be stupid enough to sell them later on the same account
    Wins: pink kids laptop :(

    Am I reading this straight?

You deliberately set out to steal items!

No wonder ebay is going downhill.
