Amazon not delivering (for free) by Christmas

Just a warning - I ordered a number of items from Amazon on Monday 8 Dec - all showing as in stock - but the company is estimating delivery after Christmas. Not much use.

Admittedly this is using the free delivery option - but this has always been a reliable option in the past - a couple of days later than 1st class, not three full weeks.

Anyone else seeing very later delivery estimates?

I ordered some blank cds yesterday and it said free deilvery in time for christmas. Got email this morning to say they had been dispatched. Might depend on what you are ordering.

i just orders hair straightners from them and used free delivery, had email yeasterday saying dispatched, i did order a few other thing but had to cancel them as they estimated delivery after 27th dec.... think it does depend on what your ordering but you can cancel order... i did and wasnt charged

I have just ordered 2 watches and a book and it says despatch friday and guaranteed delivery by the 24th. There was a large banner at checkout -before I authorised payment- saying guaranteed by the 24th .So if you dont see this you an cancel but I think it will depend on what your buying.
I find a lot of the items for free delivery can take easily a week normally .

I ordered couple od cd's 28 Nov and even then had e-mail saying won't be here for christmas, however the estimated delivery time is between 12th -29th December so keeping fingers crossed. Think if its amazon.uk you are ok but if amazon.eu then doubtful (thats what mine were).

i've just had some dvd's delivered from amazon, 2 were ordered last week & 1 on Sunday evening. a CD was ordered at the same time on Sunday & i've had the despatch notice for that too. all free super saver delivery.

I ordered a load of stuff this morning from Amazon, it is all saying dispatched.

i placed an order with them last night and theyre saying it will be in time for xmas 2 yrs ago they delivered our wii xmas eve and ever since then i think theyre great.!guess like others have said must be what you ordered.

I ordered a bath set thing last week using super saver delivery. Turned up later that week

Pjb2, I had an estimated delivery of 5th-21st January showing, when I called and spoke to someone saying that I need it by Xmas they said it would be here. Lo and behold, tracking now says delivery estimated for 15th - 18th December! So I'd give them a ring if I were you.

I ordered a few bits early last week, some of the items were sent separately and arrived sat, and mon. One item arrived this morning. From what I can gather from talking to them in the past they send from various warehouses so the picking, packing and sending times can vary even if placed on one order as the items are held in various locations.
