I did look at this at the time, and did a bit of research on it and some others. In the end I never got round to getting one (although Mum did get something for Xmas from me !!
). The reason, if I can remember!! I didn't get that model was some reports it was either quiet in the earpiece or quiet on the ringer - so I thought she may not hear it in her handbag!
However, her current "brick" is loosing it's battery life, I think, even though she only turns it on when she wants to make a call !! :lipsrseal
So I will have to get her a new one and try and show her how to use it properly
So I would be grateful if you can offer any suggestions.
Thanks Speedee

Are you looking to spend less or for a phone which is easier to use?
If ease of us is most important could spend £100 on something like this:

You can just put the SIM card of your mother's existing phone into it.0 -
I bought my Dad a Nokia 1208,last week from Tesco for £17.97 and he loves it! He previously had my old "brick" 3310 and sadly the battery was on its wayout. He is on Tesco mobile network which "piggy backs" on 02. The phone has no gadgets apart froma torch , it has big buttons and the ring tone is enough to wake the dead !! The volume is also good when listening , well worth the money . There is also 500 clubcard points given as well .

Thanks for that, that's a bit expensive though. I was only going to spend as little as possible for the right phone (£20-40), but I expect anyone else that reads this thread will welcome the suggestion if that is exactly what they are after !

I have looked in Tesco's whilst I was in there, but only at T-mobile PAYG; as that is what we use, but as we don't make many mobile calls anyway, perhaps I should look to see if we should change tariff. I did hear once that depending who your SIM was first registered to defined what your calls cost even if you went to another operator, perhaps that's changed?
That phone will be with T-Mobile probably if I bought it from somewhere else? I will have to do a bit more research.
Thanks for the reply
