Unfortunatly, thats why I disapprove of children having access to internet on the phone, its easy for this to happen, and i've seen it a few times. Usually limits are based on calls and texts, never seen an allowance forbidding mobile internet content. O2 should be able to help, loads of people who have t-mobile through carphone go into stores directly. With downloading games and music, a lot of good places always give a couple of warnings before you download content, and display the price as well, no idea why he didn't think of the cost. Unfortunatly,I think there's going to be little you can do unless they can reduce the bill a little as goodwill :(

The only problem I can foresee with that would be that we are not 'officially' with o2 but subcontracted via Carphone Warehouse.

Are you sure? I thought your airtime contract is with O2, not Carphone Warehouse

    OP,

I honestly wouldn't worry, they should refund as it is a 'first offence' but anything after that will be down to you. I wouldn't perhaps mention that your son was using it though.

Anyway, with regards to the amount being in one big lump, some phones only register their data at one point in the day (midnight) so would show on your bill as 00:00 then the amount of data used during that one day.

Also, the call registers aren't updated every 15 minutes, they can be up to 24 hours behind but nowadays with the new billing system its only a couple of hours behind. :)
