Sneaky last second bidders
Comments

I always set mine at 5 seconds and I've never lost one yet;).
Snipers are really useful for overseas auctions that maybe end in the middle of the night or something like that.0 -
i enjoy the manual sniping technique too
and i only loose items that go overpriced
and id rather do it that way than pay some lousey program to take the fun awaySee the stars they’re shining brightEverything’s alright tonight0 -
I love my sniper
I bid for collectables by Dream Theater, and it is a small world of collectots
Bid and people will know your MO
Whereas with a sniper no-one knows whether you are in the game or not
Also really helps with my overseas auctions which is where most of my stuff comes from
I am another fan of https://www.auctionsniper.com0 -

Putting in your maximum bid when the auction has a long time to run invites 'proxy bids' to push the price up though.
Each to their own though.0 -

Why are snipes so good - beacuse they prevent the price from artificially being bid up ,
PGILC1 says i bid the max an dwait and see - YES but that encourages people to bid more - its a bit lik eplaying cards you wouldnt show your hand until you had to so why bother with an auction when it is your money
SECOND REASON - it prevents you from paying more than you wanted - if you manually bid you may be tempted to bid more than you really want to if you are outbid
and there is no need - with millions of items being added every day what you want is going to come up for sale again anyway
Best of luck snopers !!!!
good points!
i also use auction sniper for things i really want and it's always done the trickfounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
buyers hate it- but sellers love it!:T The best things in life are FREE! :T0

I'd completely forgotten that I'd signed up for auctionsniper last year when trying to buy baby things. There's an auction for something I REALLY want which finishes at 4pm and I could collect as the seller's in my own little town, saving nearly £25 on post ... might have to try it as my first few bids are not good enough ... fingers crossed!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0

I have used this on my last 3 buying sprees :- http://bidnobble.com/ it is all local on your own machine so less security issues, it is a work in progress but is OK with me so far. It is also free!!!The quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0

HAHA! I AM a sneaky last second bidder - and a good job too - I've saved a packet on delivery fees, and can pay cash, leaving the paypal money for our holiday!
