Need help after waiting ages for a replacment phone

Hi all. Bare with me if i'm stating anything too obvious.

I started a new contract with T-Mobile 2 months ago and got a decent deal getting a Samsung Tocco as a phone. After about 3 weeks the phone started to cut off about 8 seconds into a phone call.It then did it consistently so went back to Carphone Warehouse and told them what was wrong.I took out insurance with them at first so it was easy to get replaced.I think though that the Goods Act 1979 would have protected me even if i didnt take out insurance.
Anyway, that order for a replacement was over 3 weeks ago. Each SAturday i've gone into the shop asking for my phone they've come out with excuses abotu where it is.Firstly they said there was a picking problem, but it would be posted in two days.Next Satuday i went in there to pick it up, still no phone.I went into the shop the next saturday and the guy said it had been posted, but still no phone.Today i went in there and even though it definately had been posted on Tuesday, the phone still wasn't there!!I asked if i could have a replacement in the meantime, but they said i would have to wait 5 days if i wanted one!And i wasn't even asking for a replacement of the same phone!

Does anyone know what rights I have here? Can i cancel my contract with T-Mobile?Can i ask for compensation from Carphone Warehouse for taking so long and messing me about? The customer service to be honest has been disgraceful and the manager is never there, and today he's on holiday until Tuesday and the kids in the shop can't do anything about it until he comes back!
Can i even ask for a new phone altogether?BEcause to be honest I dont think the replacement they have meant to have got me will work either.

Sorry for ranting on too long, i'm just unsure where I sit with all this and some help would be great.

Thanks in advance.Josh
