2 current accounts?

Is it ok for me to have two current accounts? I already have one with the Yorkshire bank but would like to open another one to keep money in for spending on my hobby to keep it separate.

Yes by all means. I have 2; one for general spending, one for bills.

Not sure about with the same provider though, depends on their view. I have one with HSBC and one with Lloyds.

I've got three on the go! lol.
  • Thanks you two :D

I wasn't going to try and open another YB one, as they usually have pay in limits don't they?

I was going to open a Cahoot one as recommended on here as best with no pay in limit.....

    or....

Is there a 'savings' account that is better that has instant access (with a switch card) and no interest penalties?

    Cheers,

    G

    You won't find a savings account which will come with a card. Usually you will have to open a savings account alongside. I have;

    Current Account HSBC
    Current Account Lloyds
    Egg Instant Savings
    Haliax Instant Savings
    Halifax 3 months fixed
    Egg ISA
    Barclays ISA

I have two YB current accounts, and salary doesn't get paid into either of them.

I also have another 7 current accounts elsewhere.

Whilst you won't get a debit card, there are savings accounts that come with Link cards for cash withdrawals (YBS & Halifax spring to mind).
