Intervalheheheh - Virus, Please Help

Hi,

I am looking for your help.

I have downloaded Winrar but I have obviously found out now that it wasn't a good program as I now have a virus named Intervalhehehe :eek:

Does anyone know how I can get rid of this, I have removed the winrar program from add/remove programs but it is still popping up and is irritating.

I have AFG Free Spyware and Antivirus on my computer.

Any help will be appreciated.

I've had a look on google and it seems a few people are getting this.
One solution seems to be by using the kaspersky virus removal tool .

It should be run in safe mode without networking.
I am sure some folk with a bit more experience will be along shortly.

Kaspersky is a very reliable anti virus software.
If you aren't running any anti virus software I would recomend this one ..It is very cheap at the moment.

So you downloaded a dodgy cracked version or one with a keygen from a dodgy site?

Chalk another failure up for AVG. When will people learn that AVG is utterly useless?

Depends on where you got Winrar from.

I just googled Winrar and clicked to download one of the Winrar programs that were listed and now I am paying for it.
How can you tel if the program is dodgy or not before you actually download it?? More so how can I get rid of it??

You're best using sites such as www.download.com for downloads.

Do an online virus scan using HouseCall (http://housecall.trendmicro.com) from Trend Micro - it's free and should find any infections you have.

Failing that, download HijackThis, run it and post your log here and either I or someone else I'm sure will have a look for you and see if there's any malware present other than what HouseCall finds.

If you have'nt already, uninstall Winrar, Could you download Hijack this from

Winrar is a great app if downloaded from truted sources. www.filehippo.com

If you can remove the hard drive and connect it to another computer and use an AV (see filehippo link and click AV) to delete the file.

I also got the nasty Intervalhehehe over the w/e.
Ignore those that are giving you aggro, It was a very easy mistake,

Those that are going to shout dodgy sites/ keygen etc we will ignore,

Please as suggested down load Hijack , that will solve half the problem
But you will find all 'web pages' default to Chinese garbage, or a warning page pretending to be M/S.

You Need to clear your host file.

Im going to have to agree with this AVG has slowly gone from being an alright AV to downright shocking in some instances.Im using Avast at the moment which seems to be doing a pretty good job
