If they actually pay on the claim yes..on the other hand if they genuinely do not deliver an item then its only right they should pay, but I do not think its fair on them when thats not the case, but as a seller you can not tell unless you use recorded/special and its signed for.
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Exactly, It is value for money when it saves you from having to refund a buyer and wait ages for Royal Mail to pay you, if at all..

  • I suppose if you have a fail rate of 1 in 50 or less it can be worth while.

Its not just that. If you can prove you sent the item, its a deterrant to any opportunist who assumes they can report anything they get as "not received" and claim everything back. You prove to Paypal you have sent it, you do not lose out.

Since sending recorded, everything has arrived. Before then, atleast 1 in 10, sometimes more reported items as "not recieved."

IMO 72p is worth it as it gets me my peice of mind and time.

Please no..unless items tracks to delivery your recorded item is not worth a bean and you might as well throw your 72ps away. For a claim fo ritem not received proof of posting is not sufficient (and that includes recorded), only proof of receipt is accepted. After Iposte don here about my 100% failure rate other people checked backk through their own receipts and were horrified to find out how many didn't show as delivered online.

Of all the items I sent recorded in October not one single one of them shows as delivered online..if they had been ebay items I would have lost a claim on each and every one of them.

Soolin, do you know which thread that was in, please?

I checked through my Recorded Delivery slips for the past 4 months and have 24 unsigned for. I'd like to see what RM did about it.

I'm glad you can afford it and I am of course on a campaign to get all my competitors to use tracked postage so that my prices look wonderfully cheap and I outsell you all.

I only use special next day delivery for items over £36 since the basic costs of it start at £4.60 for a mere 100g, I certainly wouldn't be sending my 1kg £5-£10 books for £6.40 when I can get the same 1st class for just £3.08
