I've got a motorola V360, phoned o2 today and told £15 to unlock and would take up to 28 days. Went into town but local phone shop who used to unlock have closed, no local market just other high street phone shops. I've run my credit down to a few pence on current 02 sim card so reluctant to top up again by £10 as i've got an ikea family sim card (t-mobile network) with £20 credit on it which I would to prefer to use instead as calls and texts cheaper. Just didn't realise getting phone unlocked would be so much of a hassle. Am I better off going ahead with getting o2 to unlock phone or should i get a cheap PAYG t-mobile phone or should I get a cheap sim free phone... I'm don't actually use my mobile much at all apart from the odd emergency and a few text messages, I've only topped up about £30 this year. I can't work this out Am I missing a different solutions to this?

Have you looked in the stickied unlocking thread to see if there is any info listed for your model phone?
Alternatively, you can get something called a turbo sim. Its something thats sit below your sim card in the slot and fools the phone into thinking the sim you are using is compatible with the sim lock. They're about £5 from eBay, though i have no experiance with how reliable, effective etc etc they are.0
