Well for the last couple of weeks it has been so lovely popping in here saying hello and meeting you lovely lot. I'm looking forward to more of the same in 2009.

I have a confession to make:

I started comping as part of a competition between me and my other half ... I love cadburys chocolate and a friend sent me a link to the carnival in a box thread, so i read the thread and entered and saw some peoples signatures saying what they had won ... so i showed my OH and we decided to enter competitions for a week to see who could win the most from the 7th of november... I wiped the floor with him, :rotfl: (and he is one of those annoying types who is good at everything) in my first week i won: Peroni bottle opener, Lufthanasa flights, tix to the fratellis and tix to go and see Jongluers at the 02. From there I juts kept it up, OH still hasnt won anything (mwhahahaha!) and i have been so unbelievably lucky. But my favourite part of it all is the Inn. I love it in here

P.s I'm afraid the chippy won in the end, although getting vouchers off here for pizza is an amazing idea, and whilst i was in there i got asked for my number by a tall, Dark ... Hoodie. Great. I literally ran out of the shop!

Sometimes it seems that communities have died, there is so much doom and gloom on the news, gangs, recession, crime and illness. Sometimes when I am out and about it feels like everyone is in their own little bubble, rushing around and not caring about anyone else, no-one makes eye contact or says hello nowadays.

But I found real friends in here this year who have seen me through some dark days when those in my own life couldn't or wouldn't be there for me. This is a very special community and I am so touched by the stories of heartache and yet the collective strength, support and humour I read every day in these posts. This may be the virtual world but it truly is a community and I am so grateful to be allowed to be a part of it.

I blame Toniq for getting me emotional, but I am glad to take the opportunity to say to you all, "You're amazing!"
