Issues with t-mobile

I had taken out a free laptop offer with t-mobile i get 200 free texts and unlimited internet access i took this out at pc world. I have had a month of problems.
First came the bill for £41.78 when i signed up at pc world they told me the contract was £35 a month. I contact pc world have a ago and they blame it on tmobile then tmobile blame it on pc world so i cant get any joy.
Meanwhile i get a letter from tmobile saying they are sending debt collectors for £41.78 even though i setup direct debit and debit card payment. They deny having these details dispite one of their staff having taken down my payment details. I am concerned what happened to my debit card details. I am also concerned about being over charged and having my account cut off and threatened too have debt collectors around when iv done nothing wrong. I called up and had a go at tmobile they are getting a manager to call me back sometime today.

The other confusing thing is that on the letter that threatened to send debt collectors they have written
"Ignore this letter and accept out apologies yours sincerely Customer Finance"
When i called they said they are still sending debt collectors. So !!!!!! would they tell me to ignore the letter and why would pc world sell me the contract at one price when its clearly incorrect.
Is where anyone i could report both tmobile too and pc world? I have had enough of pc world to last me a life time and tmobile too. Because they both point the finger at each other each time they do that it costs me money in calls and petrol to go to pc world on a wild goose chase.

What can i do?

is this not just a broken period bill and from next month it will be what you are expecting. if the bill is from t mobile then you need to take it up with them and set your direct debit up. This isn't a free laptop really, but on the condition you have service for 18 months.

As deano27 says above, check the to/from dates on the bill. It may very well be for more then a month.
If you started the contract on the 10th say, and the billing period runs from the 18th to the 18th of each month you will have been charged for the month (18th to 18th) plus the 10th to the 18th. After this first odd bill the rest will be what you expect. Most contracts run like this.
  • yup check your billing period. theres things to establish here i.e if you are an existing tmob customer then this line will be added onto your account with tmobile and tie in with the existing bill dates etc.... without actually seeing the bill or account, i cant advise further.. as for the debt rec agency, t-mob usually pass the account onto them in roughly 2 months of non payment.
does my bum look big in this sig?
