Thanks all...
Mum2one..glad they ran after you and sorted it.
LT sorry about the GP..
ISOM...I usually do have warranties but let it lapse as I just thought I'd buy a new one if it broke down but I hadn't taken into account losing about £500 p/w that we are now with this recession.
Getting to the point of thinking of going bankrupt or a DMP or not paying as the earnings are just covering the outgoings at the moment.

I can't really do a SOA as everything changes on a daily basis...eg: our income and then expenses such as Car repairs and tyres, servicing, diesel etc.
I've thought about getting a proper job but there's nothing about.
I don't not want to pay my debts but if things get any worse I'll not be able to sustain the full payments!!!0 -
I just wish I had a magic wand as u and Mr taxi are the 2 most hard working people on this thread, and u dont need this extra hassle.
I guess Jan and Feb is the quiet time of this yr, but guess the credit crunch is to blame.
Is there any chance of going for minimum payments this month, and see how things go? xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I know how you feel Taxi and needs must at the end of the day..i personally think prioritise and sod the rest.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I don't know what to do at the moment...if it's only a jan,feb thing then fine.If it's longer then I may hit problems.
I've not missed any payments or not been late with anything yet....but this recession is scary and I have been trying really hard...think I have to miss payments before CCCS etc can help...some don't help S/E.
I'll try and plod on and see what happens..hopefully it is juust quiet months but it's deadly quiet not just quiet IYSWIM.0 -
I know what you mean..see how you go on and prioritise.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

OK, here is my two pennorth worth (for what it is worth).....
I don't think you should be considering BR or DMP - you are having a lean time, and that is it...You CAN still pay your bills, you just have to look at things as they are now, not as they were before.
When I was SE, I NEVER earnt enough from my work to pay everything, but as you know, I just found other ways of getting the money in, cutting back etc.
It may not be much fun, not knowing what is coming in or out, but as you know so far, when you have panicked because you don't have enough coming in, you have managed to get enough by the time you need it, so haven't missed anything.
To be perfectly honest, my income now, even on a good "proper" wage, only just covers the minimum payment and bills - it doesn't allow for food, or activities, or holidays - that amount has to come from elsewhere.......extra working, mystery shops, having my lodger etc.
this recession is going to hurt everyone - that is what recessions are for......but how you get through it is up to you.....grit and determination, or letting yourself become a "recession statistic".....
If minimum payments are all that are made for the next few months, then so be it - it won't harm you. If business then picks up in a while you can over pay then and still be ahead of yourself. If, however, you go on a DMP, you are stuck with a bad credit record for 6 years.......long after the recession will hopefully end. What happens then if you need a new car, or want a holiday........you can't have one!!
If I am talking out of turn, then say so, but I know you would talk straight to me, or seaxwyn or whoever, so I am sure you don't mind my garble.,....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. That is the kind of post i wish i had written..it makes sense really. Everyone goes into panic mode when income dwindles and the gut reaction is What If? and how am i going to manage? It is definately look at the full picture time and then see..which is what i probably meant by prioritise..(its my excuse and i'm sticking to that one!) Phew..skulks off..........................Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Thanks you are right of course. My major thing is the CCs if when the 0% ends they shoot up to 34.9% like loads of other peoples have done.Which is disgusting especially if it's true that they have never missed a payment or ever been late with a payment.0% deals are hard to come by as well now.
Looking logically the loans will take care of themselves(if I earn enough) should be possible if business doesn't get any worse. Will keep plodding and hope things get better.
On a positive note the dog food arrived today so I don't need to buy any this week or next.Am making meals from the freezer/ store cupboard and only buying absolute necessities when needed for a meal.
Hypno ..of course I don't mind the straight talking as it's the way I would say it.No need to beat about the bush so to speak.0 -
Sorry things are not busier for you and Mr Taxi. Hypno writes such wise words.
